That may not always be the case.

This is not a figment of right wing imagination, this is reality for people who live in the southern half of my state.

And that's to say nothing of the impact this open border has on the immigrants themselves. Kids turn up in the desert abandoned because the coyotes decided they were slowing the group down and we don't always find them while they're still breathing. The desert is littered with trees that have chains nailed into them and plan b packages scattered on the ground because that's just part of the price women and girls pay their coyotes now. Oh and when they do make it to their destination, they're usually in so much debt to the coyotes and cartels that they're essentially enslaved to work it off.

Is it because they're criminals, not wanting to get caught smuggling drugs or weapons? Is it because they're being trafficked by criminals? Is it because they don't know what they need or where to go? Is the process too difficult or long? Is the limit too low and people are being turned away? Can we address any of this instead of just saying "let everyone in!" because it sounds easy?

Hell NO.

If anything, we should END immigration entirely, including legal immigration for at least a couple of decades. US culture CANNOT endure an endless admixture of individuals who don't speak the language, don't understand or care out our culture and our laws, who in many cases actively oppose our culture and laws and wish to destroy them in favor of their own. No culture can endure that.

I am absolutely in favor of "separating families" to deport illegals, just like I'm in favor of separating families when one of them commits ANY crime and gets sent to prison for it. Or deported, if his crime is illegal immigration. His family is suffering for HIS ACTIONS, for his knowingly violating the law because what he wants matters more to him than following the law, and his actions are hurting other people. Claiming that's somehow unfair when the government punishes him for his actions is bullshit of the highest order, and prioritizes the criminal over his victims.
