Am I projecting a little? Maybe! But you can NOT tell me that Zoey “super physically affectionately and clingy and just a bit touched with the tism” Huntrix doesn’t possess any cuteness aggression. You simply can’t!

She wants to bite and scratch and grab and squeeze her girls because she just has so much love fer them it manifests in actual aggression. It’s not even in a sexual way, but it’s not in a possessive way either? Zoey doesn’t want to, like, leave marks to show her presence, at least not right now (there have been times, yes, but Zoey feels this is different). It’s moreso she wants to do things that functionally hurt Rumira, but she doesn’t want to HURT hurt them, if that makes sense??? Zoey doesn’t want to inflict pain fer the sake of inflicting pain, it's more like she can’t help but feel the urges claw at her insides. That her love is way too abundant to be contained in her tiny little body and she’s bursting at the seams trying to hold it together. The way her affection demands to be let out of its cage and be expressed through affliction, she definitely struggles with repressing it because she doesn’t want to weird out and drive away Rumira.

They have already done so much in terms of validating her fer the notebooks, and constant stream of oftentimes unconventional ideas, and in general talking their ears off— she doesn’t want to be greedy. She doesn’t want to find out if they have a limit to their tolerance. She doesn’t want to take more than she’s been given and then be left with nothing at all. But it's hard, so insanely hard to keep her hands (and teeth) to herself.

She daydreams about chewing on Mira’s knuckles, of feeling the shape of Mira’s bones against her incisors, before pulling away and seeing the teethmarks she’s left behind on reddened skin, definite proof of her existence in Mira’s life.

She gets lost in thought wondering what it would be like to be held while simultaneously squeezing Rumi as tightly and as hard as she can because maybe, just maybe, if she squeezes tight enough she can fuse their bodies together.

She sees the pair from across the dance studio practicing the choreography together, and Zoey’s fingernails DIG into her own leg from how badly she wants to scratch and scratch and drag her fingers down whatever part of them she’s allowed to touch.

Again, it’s not even in a sexual way, and somehow that makes Zoey feel so much weirder about it. At least, when in a sexual context, this kind of aggression more talked about and understood, but this? Loving someone so much you want to crush them in your own hands? She doesn’t- fuck, she’s doesn’t get it! Everyone knows you’re not supposed to want to hurt the person you love, and make no mistake, Zoey really does care for Rumira! She cares about them so much, actually, that it somehow circles back around to this intense, aggressive, indescribable need to- to- to!!!! Ugh!!!

It’s so hard to repress her urges when the three of them are just friends, but once she and Mira get together (because I headcanon Zoemira got together pre-movie)??? Ohhh boy. It grows ten times worse because now that they’re actually kissing, a very loud voice in the back of her head is screaming at her to chomp down on the lips pressed against her own, and Zoey is dying from her attempts at remaining normal.

Mira says she wants Zoey to keep talking, and Zoey has to clench down on her jaw so fucken tightly as she combats a fierce ache in her teeth longing to sink into Mira’s shoulder.

Mira asks if Zoey still wanted to watch a million turtle reels today after the long day they had, and Zoey flexes her hands to try and get them to relax from how badly she wants to grab Mira by the forearms and squeeze. Hard.

Mira is the first thing Zoey sees when she wakes up, the two of them cuddled up together in Mira’s bed, and she feels something burning in her chest yelling at her to dig her nails into Mira’s sides.

It’s baseless and feral and a little desperate and Zoey likes her so, SO much that it’d break her heart if Mira were to pull away should she find out how badly Zoey wants to gnaw and scratch and grab and pull and and and and-! Fuck, man!

Poor Zoey struggles fer so long holding back and feeling so, so guilty over how badly wants to basically hurt Mira- god that sounds so horrible, but it’s true isn't it?- and it’s like.

Well.

Logically, okay logically Zoey knows of cuteness aggression being a whole thing, but did hers have to manifest so strongly? How is she gonna explain this to Mira?

What if Mira thinks she’s weird, too weird, not enough of a normal partner and too much of a fucking weird one, and, fuck, what if Mira thinks she had enough? What if… what if she doesn’t want Zoey anymore?

What if Mira actually realizes that Zoey isn’t as charming and attractive and lovable as she initially thought and she leaves her forever and Zoey never recovers and then Celine will have to scrabble to find another hunter to take her place because theres no way Zoey could peacefully coexist around Mira as an ex and then Zoey dies from the heartbreak all alone like everyone thought she would because everyone was right about her being so fucking WEIRD and and and and-!!!!!

It’s safe to say that Mira eventually notices her partner’s distress and directly confronts her about it in that classic Mira fashion- blunt and straight to the point but not accusing, but rather trying to solve the problem in the most direct manner- and it’s veryyy safe to say once she learns of the issue, Mira assures Zoey she doesn’t mind if she’s clingy and needs to express herself with teeth and nails alongside a thousand ideas being verbalized at once. Mira, like the good partner she is, is very, very supportive and proactive in reassuring Zoey she’s not weirded out, and with this acceptance, Zoemira would have an incredibly sweet dynamic Zoey tries to let herself be more comfortable expressing her aggression.

Mira sees the way Zoey would Look™️ at her. She’d then pull the collar of her shirt away and simply ask, “Want a bite?” and, bro, Zoey’s got WIDE glimmering eyes like a starved dog finally being offered a streak. She’d quietly ask in a disbelieving whisper, “…can I? Really?” and Mira’s got a sweet smile as she tilts her head a lil to expose more of her neck and replies, “Sure, if you want” AND BOY OHHHH BOYYY DOES ZOEY WANT!!!

They’re cuddling together and Mira feels Zoey’s hands curl and uncurl against her skin, and sleepily she mumbles into the top of Zoey’s head, “You can scratch.” There’s a pause before Zoey is dragging her nails down Mira’s side leaving tails of reddening lines in her wake, and in return Mira kisses the top of Zoey’s head and says, “Thank you” and oohhh it’s such a small thing but to actually be THANKED fer expression her aggression? To not just be tolerated, but THANKED for her weird expressions of affection?

Zoey is over the fucken moon and so, sooo joyously validated.

By the time Zoemira loops Rumi into being their third, Zoey is mucchhh more comfortable in regards to her raging cuteness aggression and more openly broaches the topic with Rumi to set boundaries and such. She wants to BITE THE SHIT outta that demon- because hollyyy shit! Don't ask her how but she's managed to bag the OTHER baddie of her dreams! Ryu Rumi the stunning incredible wonderful positively gorgina ethereal being that you are- but she's also very respectful and will refrain from turning Rumi into her personal squeaker chew toy if homegirl doesn't want it.

With that in mind, can you imagine her PURE GLEE when Rumi explains that, to an extent, she feels the same way. Her cuteness aggression isn’t as strong as what Zoey is describing, and nglll it is more possessive driven, but ohhh you besttt believe she used to feel the same exact guilt over wanting to 'hurt' Zoemira. She likely believed it to be a 'horrible evil demon thing' and it only compounded her crazy deep shame about her existence, so while Zoey is absolutely exuberant to learn Rumi also possesses cuteness aggression, Rumi herself is just wholly relieved to learn that what she feels is actually pretty normal and not an indicator of her being a horrible, ruthless monster. In fact, this aggression is actually proof that she's a sweetheart that's just so, SO full of love, so much of it, in fact, that she can't help but need to express it more intensely.

Zoerumi bonding over their shared cuteness aggression do you see the vision, their hearts are just so full of love that it manifests with Rumi carefully sinking her fangs into Zoey's shoulder while Zoey scratches up her upper arms. They're so utterly sweet to each other and it's like a feedback loop of constant validation for aggressive affection, they probably make it a game of who can mark up the other one more. They would also team up and double-time Mira with their affections, and ohh noooo Mira Huntrix's lobster is too buttery and the summer breeze is too cool and this delectable mango is far too juicy because whatever shall she do about her state of constantly being bitten and scratched and squeezed by not one but TWO insanely hot and utterly loving partners? Truly, she just resigns to her TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE fate with no resistance whatsoever.

Mira's destiny of two (2!) cuteness aggression addled partners is oh so especially terrible when she'll occasionally initiate aggression first. While she doesn't feel the same overwhelming urge as Zoerumi, she loves how happy they get when she tries to speak their language. It's another way she shows her acceptance, you honor!! She hugs Zoey from behind and leans down to lightly nip at her neck, deeply relishing the surprised squeak turned high-pitched giggles she elicits from her girlfriend now melting into her arms. When she and Rumi are walking around in their public disguises, she'd reach over to grab Rumi's hand to lightly squeeze and dig her nails into the back of her girlfriend's hand before shifting so that their fingers are intertwined, unable to hold back her growing smile at Rumi's dreamy little sigh and how Rumi is swinging their now joined hands through the air as she leads the way. It's not all the time, but Mira really does try her best to make the cuteness aggression mutual because she wants her girls to know that she loves 'em too.

In conclusion, Polytrix all end up with casually affectionate bitemarks and scratch lines. At any given time, there’s a fairly high chance that underneath their clothing and makeup, Polytrix would hide a thousand lil teethmarks and red lines and what have you, each mark a small signifier of how Zoey (and to an extent Rumi!) loves and expresses said love. And there ain't nothing weird about that, I'll tell you that much.

Say what y’all want, but you can NOT convince me Huntrix would not be part of Neverland (fans of the kpop group i-dle). In my heart and SOUL they’re all diehard Nevies with Mira’s bias being Yuqi, Zoey’s bias being Soyeon, and Rumi’s being Miyeon. Walk with me here, trust.

Mira’s bias is because Yuqi is the main dancer of i-dle and has a naturally deeper voice that’s really, really pretty. Deeper voices aren’t super common and Mira would definitely be drawn to Yuqi’s in a, “she’s just like me fr fr” type way, especially since Yuqi is a vocal powerhouse who flexes said unique voice quite a bit in the songs. Furthermore, Yuqi is the FOTG of i-dle and even though it’s only confirmed that Mira is Huntrix’s visual, I would NOT be surprised if she was their FOTG too with all her model work and such.

Also, give me pathetic lovergirl Mira who is devastatingly in love with this woman:

Yuqi is the personification of the ‘cool beauty’ type in terms of looks and a total chaotic yapper in terms of personality (basically a fantastic blend of Zoerumi in one woman), like you can NOT tell me these pics did not change Mira’s brain chemistry and convince her not to switch up her signature hairstyle even though she’s been thinking about it these past few years.

While I like to think Zoey and Rumi are deeply attracted to all the members of i-dle (because they have eyes that can see and ears that can hear), with an obvious favoritism towards their respective biases, I like to imagine for Mira it’s next level. You can’t tell me that Mira wouldn’t listen to Yuqi’s solo “FREAK” and not think about Zoey the entire time (“she’s certified freak, I’m on my knees” and the entire song is about freaking on the daily with this girl you’re so in love with) while also wishing to be Yuqi's freak the whole time (istg i-idle favorite pastime is BARELY escaping censorship from how insanely queer some of their music is and Mira would hard respect those guts).

Zoey’s bias is because Soyeon is one of the best kpop rappers period. Not only does Soyeon have the speed/control/flow Zoey would DIE for, she’s also an extremely skilled lyricist known fer her fantastic wordplay and beautiful compositions (Soyeon writes and produces most of the band’s songs if you didn’t know!). I’m just going go let this 20 second clip speak for itself because I knowwww that mic flip move Soyeon pulls lives so rent free in Zoey’s head:

Seriously, Soyeon’s got the whole package of being incredibly fierce and willing to speak her mind regardless of potential fleck (see: 2022 + 2024 MAMA disses), the type of stage presence that just completely draws you in, a super recognizable and unique rapping sound, and it’s all wrapped up in this tiny 5’2 can of pure whoopass that can and WILL verbally demolish you with unmatched style all while grinning that Winning Smile™️.

Also, she’s both her group’s rapper AND their leader, there’s no way in hell Zoey wouldn’t look up to her! Especially since Soyeon is known to write songs that include very, ahem, heavy themes on. Appreciating women. You can’t tell me Soyeon’s “Go ahead say my name, glide on it baby, that hydroplane” (WHEN EXPLICITLY SINGING TO A FEMALE LISTER) didn’t directly influence Zoey’s “Body on body, I’m naughty, not even sorry” LIKE. Yeah :)

Rumi’s bias is because Miyeon is known as i-dle’s “princess” but rather than be the spoilt brat stereotype she’s actually more of the regal ruler type beat, which is the archetype Rumi embodies to me a la, “Given the throne I didn’t know how to believe I was the queen that I’m meant to be” (no wonder why RIOT chose Miyeon to voice Ahri in K/DA, who ALSO gives me such strong Rumi vibes!).

Miyeon is extremely mature, as she is the oldest member in i-dle (like Rumi!), and has been seen taking care of the other members in her own way. She’s this wonderful mix of “incredibly beautiful woman who is the embodiment of confident luxury” and “extremely and a little terrifyingly competent” that I think Rumi would VERY much try to aspire to be. If you don’t believe me, look no further than when Miyeon joined a deserted island survivor show just because it looked fun (iconic) and was out here hunting down live octopuses and using twigs as utensils.

Falls first:

Mira. 10000%. She’s incredibly emotionally intelligent and would recognize her growing feelings for Zoerumi very early on and does everything in her power to tamper down these affections. She can’t risk being selfish and asking for more of her new family, she can’t. She refuses to take a chance and potentially lose the two people who finally make her feel accepted, high aggression and short-fuse and bluntness and all.

Over the course of god knows how long, Mira Huntrix is a Certified Grade A Yearner™️ who absolutely refuses to act on her heartache. Despite her best efforts to get over her crush, Mira only falls deeper and deeper in love with them with no end in sight, much to her distress. Every warm touch, every soft look, every sincere word of praise- how could she not fall for them?? Ultimately, Mira settles with just carrying this secret burden around fer her two sole friends to her fucking grave and this love becomes a bruise that only hurts when she presses on it. As long as she stays realistic and doesn’t get her hopes up for some faraway fantasy, it doesn’t hurt that much anymore. It’s like a weight she’s learned to be okay with, her muscles are burningly sore and her back deeply aches from carrying around all this love that has nowhere to go and she’s learned to be okay with it (she has to be, she has to be, losing them is NOT an option).

Mira doesn’t expect Zoerumi to ever return these festering feelings, so while she’s not content per se she just kinda… learned to live with it.

Falls harder:

Zoey. I love Zoey to pieces and I love the idea of the super bubbly and affectionate character being completely blind to their own feelings until last minute even more. It’s not that she hasn’t been falling this whole time (because make no mistake oohhh brotherrr she has), it’s moreso her feelings have been growing over time but she doesn’t find out they even exist until she’s in way, wayyyy too deep. When realization hits Zoey, it hits her like a damn FREIGHT TRUCK all at once. Where Mira has been slowly falling deeper and deeper in love over the course of the past year or two but aware of her slow descent the whole time, Zoey is suddenly struck with a lightning bolt of, “These two are the love of my lifetimes and if I don’t kiss them RIGHT NOW I’m going to start causing problems” and is actively fighting for her damn life with this sudden crisis.

Between being starved for human connection and having crazy ADHD, Zoey really did believe their friendship was just friendship and didn’t think past that, her hyperfixations on music and such overpowering her Girlkisser Introspection. Zoey connects the dots during one seemingly mundane moment with her girls that suddenly rips away the blinders- and once she does? It’s all she can think about, completely filling her head and being poured out into notebook after notebook after NOTEBOOK. Zoey pines, and she pines hard, but unlike Mira she’s not meant for holding back and longing from afar. She just loves them SO, SO much and is crashing out hard and is completely and utterly Unnormal about it.

Having finally realized her feelings, it doesn’t take long until a series of impulsive decisions leads to a sudden confession, and this is how Zoemira get together pre-canon and bond over wanting Rumi so bad but acknowledging how she always keeps them at arm’s length

Had to be told they fell:

Which leaves Rumi. IN HER DEFENSE!! YOUR HONOR!! It’s really hard to sit down and have proper introspection on your feelings towards your literal soulmates when so much of your mind is occupied with crazy amounts of anxiety ( for how to hide your patterns), and guilt (for lying about said patterns), and shame (for the patterns themselves). Oh you best believe for the longest time she thought Zoemira were her two bestest friends in the world and wow isn’t genuine friendship with people who care about you and would kill for you and also bleed for you so great?? The way we are all so fiercely loyal to each other to the point of riding the line of between devoted and dependent is very normal friend behavior what are you talking about?

I love Rumi but pre-canon she was NOT in the headspace to dissect her complicated feelings for Zoemira, and even post-canon she’s floundering with, “I’m just deeply, DEEPLY attached to and super clingy with them because I almost lost them to Gwi-Ma, obviously.” Like girl. Girl no. You’re so, so close. Fer fuck’s sake even CELINE can see how wholly in love Rumi is for her girls. IF CELINE’S EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED ASS CAN CLOCK YOUR SHIT THEN YOU KNOWWW YOU IN DEEP!!!
