A screen writer must avove all be a storyteller. Â In our world today, there are many kinds of storytellers: novelists, playwrights, journalists, songwriters, even advertising copywriters. Â What septerates the screenwriter from the other story tellers is a clear visual sense, an understanding of the powe3r of images, whic in turn fuels the cinematic imagination
The Short Creenplay : Your short film from Concept to Production by Dan Gurskis

22.07.15 SCREENWRITTING
OK so this ones a quirky one. In my opinion I think this is speaking about a society that does not effectively communicate and just drones along its day like working in a pointless, mind numbing job and listening to the radio non stop all day.  With out that constant static noise (that is the radio) our lives would spin out of control and we would feel hard done by.  From the wife’s perspective it could be seen that she is that voice amongst a zombie nation that has had enough of this all consuming lifestyle and wants out.
Not really one of my favourites...only because I prefer realness acting than melodramatic acting. All american brush first before breakfast...except for Ken   n.n.Â

22.07.15 SCREENWRITTING So TEXT FILM...relatively new concept but effective none the less.  A very visual way to show subtext and true intention. For me the film made me concentrate on the words I could hear and the words I could see.  Having no moving image helped with this.  I dear say this style of film making is perfect for short-short film.  Get’s the message across
Surprise surprise !
24.07.15 SCREENWRITTING Excellent use of high impact.  Even though the main character didn’t say any words; she expressed herself through her demeanour and facial expressions.  This was enough for me as the audience to understand the story completely.  I think that her facial expression said way more than words could ever say, it also fed into the structure of the film by where the a great build up was made (rising action) with the crisis happening right at the end.  Her facial expression in the last 2 shots of the film milked my emotions like something crazy.

Short version of the song Te Kokako written by Hiriini Melbourne about the endangered native bird the Kokako. Sound Remix for Youtube by "Big Up's Productions"
I’m using this song as inspiration for my monologue in my Voice Class with Midge.  I’m deriving from this song a message of forbidden love between to spieces of native nz birds - the kokako and the huia.
week iv : VAGINADENTATA P.I
Today was my first day with Tusiata.  Her presentation of Women’s First captured me and gave me a new perspective about the womenly figure and how she has been portrayed through art and culture pertaining to the pacific. We spoke and discussed about pacific female god’s and the stories attached to them.  I really enjoyed the playdoh work that I did as a mashed up response to the stories that were told.  My response played with the idea of Vaginadentata with connections to life and death and how all things are created.  Joshua made a written response off of my work.
We watched some work from Selina Marsh and I fell in love with her ‘PI’ poem.  It just so happened that I got her book out the week before and had been reading it. Â
week iv : VAGINADENTATA
Music video by Salt-N-Pepa performing Push It. (C) 1986 UMG Recordings, Inc.
Tai taught our group some slow motion pops and they were pretty sweet. Â This was a fun and light experience with 4SOB
week iii : task - skill swap
Before our next rotation started; we all met in the white room to talk about the class activity SKILL SWAP.  This is an activity that we completed last year.  This time there is a competition element to the activity. I am going to teach 4SOB a Maori game called AEIOU.  This will show them the skill of singing, directional movement and Te Reo Maori aswell as learning and playing a pretty funny game. Kat talked delivered her moving and static image power point for the kaupapa Women’s First.  Kat really drilled home how influencual women were and are in today’s predominantly male driven world.  The message of equality is something that I think about when I think women’s first.  The world that we live in is totally fucked up where it seems we do everything the wrong and hard way because it pleases those that are in power.  The fact that we have to do lectures about women’s first or any type of discriminated minority is shocking in the first instance.  Anyway let’s get off this negative buzz. Just a quick mention about Alice Guy who was the first female director who was famous for introducing COLOUR and SOUND!!!!!
After her lecture we did a dance activity where we had to do learn some street dance moves (bartman, wop, roger rabit and running man) and create a show dance with 4SOB.  Dee wasn’t here so myself, Tai and Vicky came up with some choreography.  I really enjoyed this because it got my blood pumping.  I also learnt that both Tai and Vicky are not foreign to street dance.
