About me: Ria, 26, she/her, natural surfaces enthusiast, 🇩🇪🇬🇧

What do I watch: mostly the wta, which is what most of my blog is focused on, I have a few atp players I root for and will occasionally post about -> everyone is tagged by their full name, so if you don’t want to see that you can just filter :) I also follow football/soccer and will occasionally post about woso or Jamal Musiala (my actual son). Besides that I follow figure skating casually, so you might see some programs or just me thirsting over Amber Glenn on this account.

Who do I root for: Iga Swiatek and Eva Lys are my two main players that I root for and talk about, most of my blog is dedicated to them. I also like Jannik Sinner a lot, he’s the atp player who’ll be featured the most on here (but not as frequently as my two ride or dies).

Other players I like:

WTA: Ella Seidel, Karolina Muchova, Anna Kalinskaya, Victoria Mboko, Zheng Qinwen, Katerina Siniakova, Hailey Baptiste. I also like and watch a lot of Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka, though I wouldn’t call them my faves for hashtag rivalry reasons.

ATP: Casper Ruud, Terence Atmane, Hubi Hurkacz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Mattia Bellucci.

What else you need to know: I’m like the main swialys person on here, I talk about them a lot and I also have done a few things inspired by them. The most well known is my Swialys lore post. I engage in rpf, so a lot of my posts about them will be rpf-coded!! I tag everything regarding them #swialys, my blog also functions as a sort of archive for their entire lore. Other lore I talk about from time to time is the one between Jule Niemeier and Eva Lys, you can find out about them through #juleva. Answered asks are tagged #rianswers.

Watched Eva’s match last night and my main take away is that she’s kinda at the point where as soon as she even faces a break point she loses all confidence and focus and just panics. She had 89% first serve and ONE unforced error in the first set and every shot was in. Both in the second and third it was like she expected to be broken and then promptly was. Kenin didn’t play that well but neither did she anymore and being the less clutch player is what cost her. I feel like she kinda internalised this ‘losing in three’ mindset and it’s visible with how the controlled aggression that was so beautiful to watch in the first just left her in the second and third and she was missing way too much and her serve started slowly abandoning her too (cherry on top was the match ending on a double fault). I really hope she starts playing 250s during the asian swing because at this point she needs to win matches to bring back the confidence and get out of this slump :(

#I also didn’t like the vibe from her parents yesterday because they looked so panicked throughout the third too and it certainly didn’t help #oh my eva we will make it out of this but it’s gonna take a bit 🫂

Thank youuuu 🫂 I was actually quite calm during the match because I do trust her the most in finals and she did break immediately and just looked very solid from the start 😌 but with everything else that happened this season…yeah I’m so glad we finally got something good to remember and it makes the title so much sweeter too!!

In the wta top ten almost everybody has won a title this season and the one who hasn’t at the very least made two finals and a semifinal at a slam. What appeal does the bumtp even have at this point

Didnt Iga play semi final and final the same day at a tournament a few years ago? These things can happen in tennis so certain fanbases can miss us with the excuses

I think you’re referring to Rome 2021 where she played both the quarterfinal and the semifinal on the same day (and funnily enough it was against svito and coco of all people lol). That was also her first masters win and where she double bageled Pliskova in the final. Simply cinema.

Also I do want to say that we don’t need to act like Lena wasn’t a bit worn out yesterday. Iga won fair and square by playing her game and not letting Lena into the match at all and I think that’s why twt users have been so quick to once again discredit her win. Though the tournament certainly didn’t help Lena by insisting to play the semifinals so late when it would’ve been so easy to just let them start a bit earlier and have both finalists get enough rest. But that would be less money you can charge for a night session and why should we consider the health of the actual athletes when money is so much better lmao

#that Rome run is my favourite tournament I know about in theory #but I still haven’t watched a single match from 2021 sooo I’m missing out there #have it on my list for the off season though #rianswers
