Dear 35,
Today, I say goodbye to you.
You arrived with expectations. I thought I would have more answers by now. I thought certain dreams would already be realities and that some questions would have long since been settled. Instead, you gave me something different: perspective.
Year 35 taught me that life is not a race with a finish line waiting at a predetermined age. It reminded me that becoming who I am meant to be is an ongoing process. There were moments when I felt stuck, uncertain, and impatient with myself. There were days I wondered if I was behind, if I had missed my opportunity, or if I had waited too long to begin again.
But I am still here.
I survived the difficult days. I made it through the quiet disappointments that no one else saw. I carried hopes that felt heavy at times and continued to believe, even when belief was difficult. I laughed, I dreamed, and I kept moving forwardβsometimes with confidence, sometimes with hesitation, but always forward.
At 35, I learned that my worth is not measured by a timeline. I learned that rest is not failure, that detours are not dead ends, and that growth often happens in places where no one is watching.
Thank you, 35, for teaching me patience.
Thank you for reminding me that creativity still lives within me, that there are stories waiting to be written, adventures waiting to be experienced, and versions of myself I have yet to meet.
Thank you for the lessons hidden inside disappointment and for the strength I discovered in moments when I thought I had none left.
As I prepare to turn the page, I leave behind the belief that I am running out of time. I release the comparison, the self-doubt, and the pressure to have everything figured out.
I choose to carry forward the things that matter: my resilience, my imagination, my kindness, my ambition, and my faith in what is still possible.
Goodbye, Year 35.
You were not perfect, but neither was Iβand somehow, we were exactly what each other needed.
I welcome Year 36 with open hands and an open heart. I do not know everything that awaits me, but I know this: I am not the same person who began this journey.
I am wiser.
I am stronger.
I am still becoming.
And for the first time in a long time, I am excited to meet the person I will be next.
With gratitude,
Me
