I keep seeing comments and reblogs around Tumblr along the lines of "wow, all of those words and you didn't even bother to mention x 🙄".

The thing about replies like this that there's a strong insinuation that either x was left out intentionally and maliciously, or that the person writing the post is an idiot for not already knowing about and including x, or both. Either way wording it this way is an insult and a put-down to whoever wrote the post.

Maybe sometimes people didn't mention x for malicious reasons, but 9 times out of 10 that's not the case. Most of the time people either generally didn't know or weren't fully aware. Or maybe just genuinely forgot. Either way, it's not called for to insult and attack people who are total strangers to you on the internet.

And there really needs to be more emphasis on the whole "people on Tumblr are strangers to you", it's rarely called for to attack or insult strangers unprovoked. Say some of your new co-workers or classmates you haven't really gotten to know yet are talking about how your city is going to be getting rid of some of the bike paths, and one of them is talking about how this is bad for the environment. You (hopefully) wouldn't butt in and say "wow, all those words and you didn't even bother to mention how this affects lower class people who can't afford cars 🙄😒" and if you would actually do that, you seriously need to work on your boundaries because it's really inappropriate to just attack and insult people unprovoked like that.

Of course you could say something like "oh it's not just an environmental issue, this is really going to hurt lower class people who can't afford a car!". You can actually just add it in a neutral way like that without attacking or insulting anyone in the process for not already saying it.

Joe thought nicky looked sad (actually that’s just his face) so he came to a conclusion that nicky had a lonely christmas so joe was like “well... why not make my husband happy?” and bought two jumpers (they actually look nice thank god) and santa hats from a thrift store. He had to coax nicky at first, because nicky is boring and had the audacity to frantically point at joes new haul and say “t-t-those are pagan!!” and joe was like “but it’s fun!! I love fun!!” Nicky sulked at first but who is he to refuse joe and make him sad? Besides, he has joe and joe has nicky, forever. They’re both happy. The end.

Alright I need help figuring out something for my fanfic idea.

Basically—soulmate AU with a few extra steps.

imagine a universe where everyone had marks/tattoos that had something to do with their soulmate.

for example: a snake crawling up your arm if your soulmate has something to do with snakes.

Wether that be powers or just personal interests you don’t know—but at least you get SOMETHING.

also in this world if you get near your soulmate you start to glow/your tattoo starts to glow.

this is of course and issue with superheroes who would like to remain unidentified especially while fighting.

so they make devices you can put on your wrist that stops the glow ( unimportant as that’s not what I need help with—just a bit of context for my fanfic. )

now I already KNOW I’d like to give Robert a mark/tattoo of flames wrapping around his arm to some other body part.

but what would I do for Flambae?? ( not calling him Chad—I’ll think of another name )

I could do something mechanical, maybe something to do with the suit.

The Astral Pulse has this helix like structure inside. This helix (in the right colour) could be the tattoo. It's closely related to Mecha Man but like four living people (Robert, Shroud, Chase, Royd) have an idea what it could be. (Certainly not Flambae.)

I remember where, but not what. In Rome, at Testaccio, a cinema near Nanni Moretti’s New Sacher. I was with my mother. A very sweet afternoon. 

What do you do before going on stage? 

I abandon myself to the blank page. The work done, the emotions, who I am and my character, all dissolve into a blank page.
