the boroughs was a really fun yet surprisingly deep show and im really disappointed there won’t be a season 2. if you haven’t watched it, it’s still worth getting into since the first season does wrap almost everything up. like please - give me a million shows about retirees solving sci fi mysteries. it’s so much better than watching kids or these cookie cutter 20 somethings running around. with an older cast, it allows for so much richer storytelling because these characters have decades of backstory and development to work with. not to mention it really did a great job balancing the sci fi elements with the very human fears around not only age and everything that entails but also the way the elderly are often treated by family, caregivers, and even their same-aged friends.
