Mother Mother - Infinitesimal  Discovered these guys recently... 6 albums of poppy indie rock and this one really paints the picture perfectly: bumpin beats, fun lyrics, and solid harmonies, what more do you want!  There’s a million billion trillion stars but I’m down here low... fussin over scars ON MY SOUL

Django Django - Marble Skies Album number 3 and it’s more of the same quirky, electronic, harmonic-as-hell tunes you’ve come to love, and I do love a track 1 that gets shit poppin right off the bat. 

“Peanut Butter Jelly” by Galantis Alright these guys know how to make entertaining videos. It just so happens to include the catchiest song from Galantis’ first album. SO GOOD. 

“Still Beating” and “This Old Dog” by Mac Demarco A video originally shown to me by a friend, it really opened me up to this whole album, an acoustic wonder to behold. Turns out this song came at the perfect time for me personally, break ups become easier to deal with when someone puts your thoughts into poetry with a beautiful guitar riff to back it up.  Honey I cry too... you better believe it. Honey my heart still beats for you... even though you don’t feel it... beating.

“Erase Me” by Mystery Skulls From an artist that for a long time was just posting electronic dance singles, this album comes off like a full on concept album. Take Erase Me, an orchestral sinister intro, to a pretty piano riff, and a slow build to a huge ear blasting drop. Essentially an intermission on the album but damn did it take me by surprise.    There’s no one in this world who could treat me like...

“Mourning Sound” by Grizzly Bear A fantastic new album by one of the world’s weirder bands, still catchy, still vague yet meaningful lyrics. This whole album didn’t sink in for me until I experienced a particularly deep low, and this song was the very first song I listened to when it hit. I didn’t get these lyrics originally, but somehow I inherently knew what mourning sounded like in that moment.  We woke with a mourning sound, it’s the sound of distant shots and passing trucks. 

“Boots” by Kesha Yeah this album Rainbow’s been a long time coming and it’s just fantastic. Pretty much every track is great in different ways, changing genres song to song, 80% of the songs are empowering and punchy and the rest (like Boots) are just good fun. She’s been through a lot in the past few years, good for her to move on, screw the haters, and get back to kicking ass. 

Okay I’m usually not one to watch trailers but I was curious to see what a battlefront single player would look like and holy shit. It’s always fun to see a conflict from the bad guys’ perspective but more importantly they turned the Vader motif into like... a hopeful anthem!? AH so awesome.
