Pronunciation: Kan-yee-sa Nd-loh-voo

Nicknames: Khanyi, Kay, Kiki, Starlight

Khanyi has always considered herself ordinary - raised in a loving family, grounded, and content in the quiet security of anonymity. But her life has never been entirely untouched by the spotlight. With a father who manages celebrities, a mother who gained public attention through reality television, and best friends who rose from obscurity to global fame, Khanyi grows up orbiting a world that she prefers to observe than participate in. She watches it all from the sidelines, comfortable in the shadows, even as the people closest to her are pulled further into the light.

Thyra Gaye

Thyra is the daughter of Jerome and Maddie Gaye, with Maddie being Norbert's (Khanyi's dad) older sister. As the oldest of the cousins, Thyra’s always felt this sense of responsibility to protect Khanyisa (occassionally, to her mild annoyance). Regardless of this, the two have always been close and always fought in each other’s corners. Thyra finally got her big break as a rapper around the time Khanyi's twin siblings were born, and has continued excelling in her career. Thyra's schedule and career keeps her very busy. But she will take any chance she can get to make sure she sees her cousin.

Anissa Jones

Anissa is the daughter of James and Marlene Jones, with James being Doreen's (Khanyi's mum) older brother. Both Anissa and Khanyi have always felt like they were twin sisters, especially as they were both born within weeks of each other. Khanyi and Anissa share a very close and jokesters family dynamic between each other. They as thick as thieves, with the two, usually, encouraging each other’s mischief. Being the creative soul she is, Anissa spends her working life at 1000 Words Art Gallery building a name for herself as the resident artist for the gallery.

Elise Miller

Marcus Johnson

Marcus met Khanyi while attending Britechester University, and both became close friends. She immediately had a crush on him and found him extremely attractive. And you could absolutely say the feeling was mutual. In addition to their friendship, they developed feelings for each other, but could never got the timing right when it came to getting together. One person would end up in a relationship (or a situationship) and that would create some distance between the two. Or life would pull them away from each other. But despite all of this, they never stopped thinking about each other and whatever distance. Khanyi’s support and many late nights partying allowed him to find his passion of DJ’ing while studying, and he ended up gaining fame and notoriety. Years later, they ended up living in the same block of flats before everything went pear-shaped.

Jared Amaal

Khanyi and Jared met while attending Copperdale High School. The two spent so much time together that they became really close. They were study buddies and even went to prom together. But as friends. Khanyi didn’t know that Jared actually liked her. She always suspected something but was never brave enough to ask. He left until prom night, where he intended on telling her how he really felt about her, and wanted to ask her out that night... But she had to leave early because that was the night her twin siblings were born. The two remain friends to this day. And she still doesn’t know that he intended on asking her to be his girlfriend that day.

Jeremy Holliday

Jeremy matched with Khanyi on Cupid’s Corner. It was one of those spur-of-the-moment situations when she wanted to put herself out there a bit more. Despite their chats starting off slow, it looks like something could be budding here...

Zayne Cooley

As this past week was Africa Week, the girls head to the Africa Heritage Festival in Oasis Springs the following afternoon.

Thyra has the honour of opening the last night's musical performances and brought her cousins along to soak up all the fun and culture (and - OF COURSE - the food). Now, isn't it awfully convenient that Khanyi can now avoid certain people and conversations, in the name of supporting her cousin? 00

The two finally meet and got some interesting first impressions too. Jeremy thought Khanyi was pretentious, and Khanyi thought Jeremy was cool (this seems to be regular occurrence when sims first meet Khanyi). Despite that, it looks the two were hitting it off almost instantly.

After a successful date in the books, Khanyi is excited about the prospects of getting to know someone new, especially someone as interesting as Jeremy seems.

That being said, despite Khanyi having a good head on her shoulders, it doesn’t seem like she’s fully conscious of all the things at play here. The question is , what could possibly go wrong here?
