My favorite part of this is Dan Levine not at all involved in the photos.. just wandering around checking out the green room
I LIKE PORTLANDIA!
New best quality rip of The Devil Went Down to Newport!
I've had this VHS promo forever. Finally, you can see it. Thanks @waymu
They Might Be Giants opened a dozen shows in 1995 with a fast, swingy version of the normally plodding John Henry song "O, Do Not Forsake Me" and the audiences never knew what hit them. The final performance was opening for Elvis Costello in New York City and the song has never been performed again in either form 🤔
When I saw They Might Be Giants at the UC Theatre of Berkeley, CA in 2016, sign language interpreters Kirk and Becky took turns throughout the show.
A couple of years ago, my video received a comment pointing out that Kirk added a line at the end of Older: "TOO BAD!" 😂

Why are there two versions of Rat Patrol?
JF: I was unaware! (Are you talking different mixes? Or are you saying there are different performances?)
Are we talking Linnell-sung studio version vs Flans-sung acapella Dial-a-Song version?
My besties @realityminus3 and Zeke Rat visited KMSU studio in Mankato, MN and co-hosted a show on the air with DJ Karen Wright. She spun some They Might Be Giants, of course. Near the end of the broadcast, I shot a video of a house sparrow mom feeding her fledgling and the music seemed to fit well 🙌

The first time I listened to Roman Songs was an emotional rollercoaster. But that's just me
From flansyflans on Instagram…
“At the bottom of a box: Before the television show Friends went on the air, TMBG was sent the pilot and asked to write a theme. Since then, some show business insider told me the final theme was actually in play very early on, leading the insider to postulate the network was looking for us to provide back up or leverage. But the pilot seemed like a faux-hipster-meets-Bugsy-Malone version of Seinfeld, and we had to fly to Japan, so we respectfully passed. All that remains is this VHS of the pilot.”
Saw this and was reminded of the time that Flans compared Friends to Seinfeld..
