          With a mere glance, the lamp next to her bed lit up and shifted to shine a spotlight on him. “You were missing the light for your whole interrogation atmosphere. Now there’s no way I can possibly take you seriously as an interrogator.”

The chances that he would believe any lie she posed was egregiously slim to none. Better to come out with it then, “I’m from the future, like you, so choose your questions carefully.” Kyra hoped that would be enough to steer him free of questions she ought not to answer truthfully.

          “Look ! —— I’ll tell you the truth, but only if you pinky swear not to tell anyone else.” Sure, there’s a risk that her Aunt would break said promise, though there was a greater risk in that her continued suspicion would have others asking questions. For good measure, Kyra held out her hand, pinky out. “Do you promise?”

  kyra was born with blue skin, a trait obviously inherited from her father. her appearance hardly mattered to her parents and those who loved her, though they both knew it would be safer if she looked “human”. querl fashioned a bracelet for her that functioned as an image inducer. initially, it was connected to him, though control over it was relinquished to kyra when she had the mental capacity to know what it was, it’s function, and why she needed it ( which wasn’t very long in comparison to the developmental time frame of humans ). it wasn’t until years later that querl would teach her how to change her appearance without an image inducer.
