In the engineering and manufacturing fields, a load bank performs a vital function, and these types of products are an essential component of any battery-testing equipment. Facilities used for storing large amounts of electricity for long periods of time require periodic monitoring and maintenance. Tech King, or Tech Tyrant?

Some people call Google's market domination a true capitalist success story, but others see the company's success as a significant problem for other tech businesses.  People worry that Google has created a monopoly in the tech industry, and even more worry that Google has gotten too big for governments to properly monitor.  Google hasn't made it impossible for other businesses to succeed, but it does make it very difficult for small tech companies to get even the smallest share of the market. 

Both the public and private citizens have expressed their concern over Google's overwhelming market dominance for years.  Official federal intervention didn't start until June 2011 when Google let the media know that the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) had contacted the company to announce that they were conducting a formal investigation into their practices.  The US FTC recently announced that it aims to resolve its anti-trust investigation into Google's search practices by the end of 2012.  Google met replied to the announcement with a typical PR response.  They claimed that they "are happy to explain our business to regulators and answer any questions they may have", but some wonder if the company is getting a little nervous about its upcoming investigation.  This year the FTC issued the company a $22.5 million fine to settle charges that claimed that the company misled users about their policy on cookie tracking in Apple's Safari web browsers. 

In a post Google Penguin world it doesn't take much for a website to get hit with a penalty.  Any link that looks suspicious could earn your site a Google demerit, and even before the Penguin update Google crawlers were able to quickly find and downgrade keyword stuffed content.  Since the Penguin update more and more websites have been hit with penalties that involve duplicate content.  Unfortunately many site owners were confused by the penalty, mainly because they weren't even aware that their site had any duplicate content. 

The SEO industry seems pretty divided on whether or not it's best to outsource content writing duties to freelance writers and freelance writing agencies, but Google's duplicate content policy could end that argument pretty quickly.  This isn't true for every freelance SEO writer, but some content can end up being given to different clients and passed off as "100% new content".  Initially some people didn't see the problem with it, but now that Google is really coming down on sites with duplicate content that practice should end.  Unsuspecting websites are seeing their rankings plummet because of duplicated content they didn't even know existed.

True "Duplicate" Content

The definition of duplicate content is pretty self-explanatory, but some people think that Google is a little too quick to declare certain kinds of content as "duplicate".  Some argue that when you write about certain topics that some information is bound to be repeated.  As an example, let's say that you absolutely love a very rare endangered species that people have little information about.  You want to inform others about what's going on with your favorite soon to be gone animal so you decide to make a website about it.  There are only a few websites with information on the species so you rely heavily on their information for your content. 

You tried your best to put your content in your own words, but some things ended up sounding very similar to what your information sources said on the topic simply because there was no other way to correctly state the information.  Even though you spent hours researching and rewriting your material, Google bots saw too many similarities between your page and another website you got information from and you end up getting hit with a duplicate content penalty.  Realistically there probably aren't too many people who devote their time to writing about relatively unknown endangered species, but it illustrates the failings of how Google designates certain content as duplicate content.
