When my little sister was about 5 and I was 11, she saw the movie the Borrowers and was fascinated by the idea of little people living secretly among us. Being the devious sort that I am, the following day I cut a tiny footprint out of an eraser and left little trails around the house with washable marker, she was ecstatic when found the first trail and spent the whole day looking for other signs of little people. Because I also am a perfectionist, I had to keep one-upping myself and the next day I cut and glued a tiny hand-cart out of cardboard and toothpicks, filled it with Cheerios and left it in a random corner. Later that day she found it and was so excited and fully convinced we had borrowers living among us. It made me happy to see her happy during a difficult period in our lives, so I kept making miniatures and leaving them around for her to find. For years… eventually I got kinda good at it. Made that house that lights up with internal Christmas lights when I was 17.

You can buy an expensive calligraphy set but it’s not required and Lord Michael’s doesn’t need the coin.
