So, I have the psychic abilities of a very dull rock. I sometimes read about all of these talented people astral traveling, lucid dreaming, dream-walking, spirit-talking…and I’m just sitting there like “MY FACE IS TINGLING IS THAT A GHOST OR A MIGRAINE INCOMING?” It’s always a migraine.

Honestly, nothing is going to work as well as meditation for developing your psychic abilities. But, might as well use everything in your arsenal to help out, right?

                                         “ MY THIRD EYE IS OPEN.”

In order to charge this sigil. I decided to do something a bit more intricate than the usual burning routine.

NOTE: The following steps are completely optional.

Materials: 

Pen

Paper

1-2 Lemon slices

Bay Leaf 

Rosemary

Salt

Rain Water

Anise Seed

Mint

Cleansed container

Procedure:

Draw the sigil on a small piece of paper. Focus on your intent. 

Pour  the rainwater into your cleansed container

Add some salt

Place the sigil in the rain water, still focusing on your intent. 

Add lemon slices and other herbs

DO NOT DRINK THIS GUYS. DO. NOT. DRINK. IT.

Sleep with the container nearby. The water and acidity of the lemon should  eventually destroy the sigil. Paired with the herbs, it should be nicely charged. 

Recreational Witchcraft: Simple Salve Recipe

Beeswax salves are a great recipe to have in your repertoire because depending on the herbs included they can be used for many purposes. Healing balms can be made for cuts, scrapes, bites, and for topically treating pain like menstrual cramps or sore muscles. Moisturizing salves can be used on the lips, cuticles or to combat any dry winter skin.  As for magical applications, the list is a long one. Protection salves, flying ointments, and glamour salves are just some of the more common ways beeswax salves have been used as a simple method of transferring the power and magic of specific herbs to the body. The possibilities are quite endless. 

You will need:

A mason jar

1 cup of Olive oil

1 ounce of Beeswax 

Assorted herbs

Choose your herbs. Remember to choose your herbs with care. Herbs have specific medicinal and magical properties and some can cause allergic reactions. Use your better judgment.

Combine your chosen herbs and one cup of olive oil into a mason jar. Your herbs will steep in this mixture for one month so their properties can be better absorbed into the oil. 

After your herbs have steeped for a month, Melt down your beeswax into a liquid form, taking care not to burn it. You can do this on the stove but know that wax can be a hassle to clean from pots and pans (For this reason we have a specific pot for melting wax).

This is extremely important, and I don’t see this point expanded upon enough. So here it goes;

Poetic language is an all around bad idea. You should always speak plainly when talking to entities. People often bring the symbolism of our society and use it to sound cooler, smarter, and all around better when doing witchery. The people who hear your statements are usually not from our society, and have no grasp on the meaning you’re trying to get across. It causes misunderstandings that can have disastrous results. 

Heres an example of what i’m talking about: Lets say im a new witch looking for a deity to worship. Having a deity is something I really want and I’m extremely passionate about it. I send out a calling for a good deity to come and give me a sign that they want me to worship them. “good” is just a too plain word for me to use, I mean, i’m calling upon a god(or goddess) afterall! “I wish for a god of the light to come and give me a sign!” I say. WAIT, queue record scratch and freeze frame! I used phrasing that me and my peers would understand(”a god of the light”), but gods may not know that i’m using “the light” in place of “benevolence”. Guess who would qualify as a god of the light? Lucifer is who. Having lucifer try to contact you could be extremely upsetting for someone who doesn’t want to associate with lucifer.

Another example would be if I was banishing evil spirits from my home. If I used the phrasing “Spirits of the shadows, leave this household!” instead of “Spirits who wish me harm, leave this household!” I would have, you guessed it, my house almost just as it was before. Spirits of the shadows could mean any nocturnal creature, and wouldn’t necessarily cover malicious spirits at all. See where i’m going with this?

TL;DR: Speak plainly when talking to deities, spirits, and other non-human entities

Uranus is a planet of freedom, innovation, change, intuition, and stimulation. With that being said, one of its more notable herbal correspondences is coffee! Use this exfoliating coffee scrub on your face or body to promote intuitive thinking and positive change, plus an added boost of energy.

Ingredients:

½ cup of coffee grounds

½ cup of brown sugar

¼ cup of your favorite oil (olive, avocado, grapeseed, almond, coconut, etc.)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Instructions:

Mix all dry ingredients first, then add the oil

Mix thoroughly and store in an airtight container for later use

Usage:

Face scrub: 

Apply a quarter sized amount to the palm of your hand and massage on your face in small, circular motions

Rinse with warm water

Body scrub: 

Using your hands, a washcloth, or loofah, apply as much of the scrub as necessary to cover your entire body

Massage yourself with the scrub until you feel that you’ve exfoliated enough

Hello everyone! In your everyday life, there are little things that need to be done to keep your home and life clean and orderly. Magic is the same way! I think that there are little actions that should be performed daily, weekly, or at certain times throughout the year in order to keep your magical practice in tip top shape and make sure that you are magically protected, cleansed, and happy :) Keep in mind that I am not the grand poobah of witchcraft, and your “magical maintenance” routines may be very different from mine. This is just a little “outline” of sorts to help get you started in a magical maintenance routine. Enjoy!

Daily:

-Ground and center. Control yo energy. Meditate if you’re super hardcore.

-Shield, preferably both in the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to bed

Weekly:

-Do some witchy research. Keep your witchy knowledge up to date. Quickly skim the web or a new book and try to enhance your magical knowledge a bit.

-Write a spell or at least brainstorm some ideas for magical spells or workings. Don’t let your magical abilities go out of practice.

Monthly:

-Strip down and re-make any personal wards or protections that you have up. Recharge them so that they are still effective protectors 

-Magically cleanse your home. Make sure no negative energy is hanging around.

Yearly:

-At the beginning of the new year, write down any magical goals that you have for the new year. What do you want to learn? What do you want to try? How can you enhance your existing magical practice? Look over the goals throughout the year.

-Spring cleaning! At some point during the year (I like to do it in Spring as another branch of my regular Spring cleaning), completely strip down any magic that is in effect at your house. Strip it down, do a hardcore magical home cleansing, and re-build your wards and protections.

Yes! I have a few ways but this one happens to be most effective I believe:

1. Get into a place you feel comfortable and safe and won’t be interrupted. It could be your room, any place really. I like to turn my fairy lights on!

2. Queue up relaxing forest sounds, beach sounds, or just relaxing music. If you don’t like music, silence is fine as well! 

3. Slowly relax your whole body. Start by focusing on your breathing, and then imagine your energy as a ball of light. Sometimes it’ll be white, sometimes it’ll be tinged with color, it’s different for everyone! Take that ball of light and bring it up from the ground into your toes, and eventually up to the top of your head. Each breath in raises the ball a little more. 

4. Once you’re relaxed, concentrate on that ball of light. Try to see it from every angle, see it enveloping your entire being. Sometimes you’ll be taken back to a memory where someone will say your name, sometimes it’ll just be a general memory. What I like to do is focus on a part of my body and that either gives me a name or a random fact about myself or even another look at my body!

Look for a crossroad.

Light a cigarette.

Invoke the three headed mother.

Your own words will do.

Invite her for a smoke.

Ask for wisdom.

~ Morganite ~

General

Although pink, Morganite is tied to the see, just like Aquamarine; Beryl is often worn on water as protection from the storms and the seas. The interesting part of this legend is that in ancient times it was also to bring down the rain during droughts.

Some of the finest Morganite is from Madagascar, as Brazil produces the pure pink crystals, as well as some containing Aquamarine in the same crystal. 

Metaphysical 

Morganite is known both as an Angel Stone and a Heart Stone. It may bring love to one’s life or rekindle an old love. As an Angel Stone, it is known to help one with communication with angels. Morganite also bring one’s compassion, empathy, self-control, and patience.  It is also said to balance one’s emotions, as well as ease the pain of separation.

Morganite assists one to heal prejudices and intolerance, creating a more flexible attitude towards all things in general.  If one is attracted to another who rebukes the interest, Morganite may be used to help break free of the useless feelings.

Morganite also encourages fair treatment to others, especially those with mental or emotional problems or physical illnesses that make them hostile to others. It is an ideal crystal for realizing the equality in all relationships, and in developing effective but loving communication and expression.

If one is feeling lazy, wear or hold a Morganite and allow its unstructured gentle vibration flow.

Morganite is specifically said to act as an aphrodisiac, attracting and maintaining love.  It encourages loving thoughts, actions and creating a space where one can enjoy life to it’s fullest, and loving it.  It is said to calm a stressed life and be beneficial to the nervous system.

Magical

If one is attempting to break away from a relationship that is not in one’s best interest, wear Morganite until more in control of one’s emotions once again. Morganite may also be used in candle burning rituals to the same end. This stone will help one to recognize and escape closed mindedness and egotism that blocks one’s spiritual advancement.

When something has been lost, hold a Morganite and visualize what is being searched for. Then, still the mind and allow the heightened psychic awareness lead to the object.

Placing charged crystals/stones/etc. in the soil of your houseplants can create a cycle of charging, cleansing, and various effects, all in one cute little pot! For example, placing rose quartz underneath the leaves of my aloe vera has caused my plant baby to grow bigger and stronger, and the rose quartz itself is charged by the plant’s energy!

Not only can you grow a plant and charge a rose quartz, you can mix and match to your intent! I’ve been having issues with gnats, but hiding obsidian chunks for protection, along with amethyst chips, has helped ward off the insects and I haven’t seen a gnat since I did it. If you want to promote positive vibes, putting a flourite piece or two in a flower pot, then putting it in the desired space, can work wonders!

The only thing to be wary of is what specific stones you put with your plants. Salt will kill, and water-soluble stones (such as selenite or malachite) can cause more harm than benefits, or even create a dangerous situation. Granted, when done safely it can be a curse, too, with the plant working as a poppet as it withers and dies. But, it’s all up to the witch.

I know that a few of us bury our stones in the earth to charge them, and this is just a little hack to keep it simple and combine a bit of green witchery into it.
