she had just been making herself a sandwich, thinking
of something she could watch in order to pass the time
with blythe gone. he was coming back later that day, yes,
but it was still hours away. she would either need a really
long movie or a four-season show. maybe she could finally
start on lord of the ringsâŚ
did someone just walk into the house?
leaning out to see who it was, annaâs heart was pounding
until she heard violetâs voice echo out. why did blythe give
him a key? deciding to joke around, anna cleared her
throat and mocked the semi-deep voice of her uncle.
â violet? in the kitchen. â her accent was terrible,Â
it was obvious that it WASNâT blytheâ but it still
cracked her up.
turning the corner into the kitchen at the sound of annaâs
voice, violet tackled her (part from his momentum, and
part intentionally in light of her pretending to be blythe),
before quickly rolling off and sitting on his knees like a
young child. âanna, anna, anna...â he trailed off, out of
breath in all his excitement and unable to actually tell her
his amazing discovery that he had been yearning to get out.
looking around briefly as he came to realize he had inter-
rupted something? (if the ketchup? on his forehead was any
indicator), he quickly decided the best way to explain his
discovery would be to show her.
âanna, look at this,â he whispered, watching as he wiggled
his fingers ever so slowly and as the fallen over bottles began
to float back up to the table.
âyou know that really cool magic thing! you see magicians
doing sometimes? i figured out i can do that now.â heÂ
beamed after speaking, a closed-mouth smile, but brightÂ
enough to light up the room, and reflect off the snowflakesÂ
which were suddenly falling from the...ceiling?
