I've never really attempted this kind of lisa frank-adjacent style before but I had so much fun painting it that I might try to do more like this. it was completely freehanded via about ten thousand layers though I imagine there are probably easier ways to do it lol.

felt like making a ref for my resist!Durge Ryldimar because I really needed to get all the scars and markings figured out. during the actual game he's still got the brighter red swirls and stained hair, but he does have the scars because 90% of those are from Kressa Bonedaughter's assorted vivisection attempts (and/or stabbing at his fingers to stop him from strangling her in the middle of vivisection attempts). he lost the red after Bhaal repo'd his blood, but the mark didn't fade completely.
At some point I'll do one of these for his twin Calafein/Veil too, because they are not identical, but he's canonically dead at the end of the Durge storyline and thus does not need one as badly.

I accidentally started a discussion about Skyrim horses being predatory animals because their headtracking makes them look at everything head-on, and multiple people rightfully pointed out to me that Shadowmere is definitely an apex predator and we’ve known this since the beginning. So then I was like “what if I drew Shadowmere, but worse” and this happened.
