Meredith: Derek? Derek: Wait. Just… (sighs) Meredith: … Derek? Derek: Just wait. … I am calling post-it, Zola, Bailey, the tumors on the wall, ferryboat scrub caps. I thought D.C. was everything. And I was wrong. You… You. You’re everything. I love you, and I’m not going to stop loving you. Meredith, I can’t live without you. I don’t want to live without you. And I’m gonna to do everything in my power to prove it. Meredith: (sighs) I can live without you. … But I don’t want to. I don’t ever want to.

Derek: (holding up ties) What do you think? The blue or the burgundy? Meredith: The blue makes you look too handsome. You don’t want the president to be distracted by those piercing blue eyes. Derek: Oh, you want me to get the job. Meredith: I want neurosurgeon Dr. Shepherd to get the job. I don’t want my husband Dr. Shepherd to get the job. Derek: That’s complicated. Meredith: Yes, well, I’m complicated. I’m gonna take a shower now. Derek: So am I. Meredith: No. Derek: It’s been three weeks. Meredith: You went back on your promise. I can’t sleep with a man who’s a lying liar. Derek: What if I put on the blue tie? Meredith: Nope. (shuts bathroom door) Derek: You’re having fun. You delight in my pain. Meredith: I just took off my robe. Now I’m soaping myself up. Derek: (chuckles) Oh, my goodness.

Meredith: Take a look at the shirt that I bought Zola. It’s– It’s– It’s in the bag on the counter. Derek: Oh, Meredith, guys don’t get all goo-goo over baby clothes. Meredith: Just look. Derek: What is this? (looks stares at the t-shirt, surprised. Meredith smiles and gets up, he shows her the writing on the t-shirt, which says: ‘World’s best big sister) Meredith: It’s only 3 weeks, so I shouldn’t even be telling you. I mean, I still have a hostile uterus, and terrible things are constantly happening to us, which is why I haven’t told anyone. I haven’t even told Cristina. So… if you tell anyone, I-I swear I will kick you out of this house that you built. Derek: Don’t worry. And good things happen to us. We’re gonna have another baby. Meredith: We are gonna have another baby. (they kiss) 

Meredith: Well then why are you with me? Derek: Because of THAT!(points at the post-it on the wall) Because I meant that! I promised I wouldn’t run. I promised I would love you. Meredith: Even when you hate me… Derek: Even when I hate you. I’m trying Meredith. I’m trying, but you make it so damn hard. Meredith: I understand. And I don’t want you to keep the promise. Not if you don’t want to. And not if you can’t trust me with our daughter. Derek: I do, I trust you with Zola. Meredith: Well you just said… Derek: That’s not what I said! I know that you took her to protect her, I know you’ve altered the trial for Adele and for Richard… You stood in front of a bullet for me. I know why you do all of it. That’s what I love about you. Meredith: And what you hate about me. Derek: Yeah.

Derek: I love you. And you love me. And… whatever happens… I don’t care. I don’t wanna know. I mean it. I don’t wanna know.  Meredith: The lab already has my blood, so… Derek: Here’s what we’re gonna do. No more doctors, no more labs. And you and I, we have a lot of sex, maybe we’ll make a baby, maybe not. Maybe you get Alzheimers, maybe not. Just, screw the odds, screw the science… Lets just live. Whatever happens, happens. Me and you. Okay? Meredith: Okay.

Derek: Here, turn around. (turns her around). Close your eyes. (Meredith closes her eyes, Derek kisses her).One. (kiss) Two. (kiss) Three. (kiss) Four. (kiss) Five. How was that? Meredith: (smiling) Almost perfect. Derek: Five almost perfect seconds. (kisses her again). Call me when you want five more, okay?
