It’s funny how things that were a big part of your past sometimes continue to be little parts of your future.
Part of the reason little-grade-9-me loved Flashpoint so much was because it was filmed in Toronto. It was super cool just to see places I knew.
One of my favourite FP episodes is Behind the Blue Line, where Team One has to deal with an angry ex-soldier that takes Spike hostage. They spend their day trying to track him down in Maple Leaf Gardens. I’ve probably seen it a hundred times. It’s such a well-written and produced episode.
In a few days, I’ll be writing one of my final exams in the place the entire episode was filmed. When I realized, I freaked out a little inside even though I haven’t felt the same fiery love for the show as I had years ago. I guess that’s just what happens when something becomes that big of a part of your life. Even if it was a short-lived Canadian TV series about cops.
But anyway, if I walk in and find out it’s the same arena where the infamous Sam Braddock talk down scene took place I’ll probably die a little lot inside.
(Idk why I wrote this. It’s 3 in the morning and I just had a really sentimental epiphany. I don’t even remember what I was trying to get at lol I just think it’s cool I get to write my exam where the greatest episode in TV history was filmed but I’ll be on my way now. OK, bye still love you v much FP even though it’s been like 4 years.)
