Raven

“Yeah,” he said softly, “I’m ready,” he agreed, he was going to get through this, he had to, it was the only way to save Raven, and he was GOING to save her- no matter what

“But what Robins trying to say man is be careful and come back to us.” finishes Cyborg. 

“Ready?” asks Robin.

“If I were Raven… where would I put it?” he muttered, glancing up at the very, very top bookshelf and smirking, he shifted into a bird, flew up, and grabbed the mirror, before flying back downstairs

“I’m going to go get the mirror, just… just make sure she waits for me ok? Keep her alive until I get there… I’m going to save her, Ii swear it…” he breathed, racing up the stairs to get to Raven’s room

“Come on back when he gets here.” he tells Robin and the other teen nods.  

Beastboy knew that he was going to get the mirror regardless of having the team’s support, but he wanted it anyway, he just… he wanted to know they had his back, even if he had already made his mind up to do it anyway

“Beastboy,” Robin began. “If this is what you want to do were with you.” he says.

Robin considers. “Cyborg is right Beastboy. Think about it. Would Raven want you trapped?” 

“Cy, you remember when we found that freaky mirror in Raven’s room? We went inside her mind and there were all of those other Ravens? Her emotions? What if.. what if somehow when of them is causing this? What if it’s her demon side that’s like… somehow blocking her chi or something? She meditates to keep it in control so what if it got out? Maybe it’s sabotaging her,”

“But y-yea it could be that if it were some kind of emotional block or something that would explain why it wouldn’t come up on my readings.” agrees Cyborg nervously because he thinks he can see where BB is going with this. 

“She’s GOING to wake up,” he said seriously, voice not wavering for a moment, “What’s stopping her? Is it.. is it physical? Neurological? Mental?”

Robin puts a comforting hand on the changelings shoulder. “W-we don’t want you to think we’re giving up on her Beastboy we just- were doing everything we can.” 

“Your words brought it up. ‘No matter how small’. I think– well– it’s a possibility that it could be this toy army man.” He could have further explained the small object’s significance to the girl, but for now, he wouldn’t. Either she’d ask, or he could keep it to himself… and suffer alone at the memories it brought back.

“He knew. Hell, for all we know, he chose for this to happen.” Roy pinched the bridge of his nose with his left hand, still not wanting to use his newly acquired right arm, and let out a breath. “And I assume now he’s just going to assume we can figure this out on our own? No help whatsoever?” He glanced around once more, looking for nothing in particular. Letting out a sarcastic, angered laugh, Roy shook his head. “Of course he is. That’s what he always does.”

“Roy” she started. “We-we’re supposed to be looking for something we’ve lost right, well- well you’ve already found it.. or its found you” she said imploringly. “Its just…” she trailed off not wanting to ask him how he was supposed to let go. How was she supposed to ask him something like that. It wasn’t fair and she couldn’t stand to look at him so she looked down letting her red hair act as a curtain.

You feel the dirt beneath your new nails as you rest your old hand in the grass, the quiet breeze billowing over the grass. You can hear the wind whistle through the old windows behind you but outside of this all is still quiet.

“Well” she said slowly, giving Jason a chance to answer. Her violet eyes never straying from Jason’s brown ones. She was giving him her undivided attention. It was very important they figure this out and she just had to keep herself collected and her emotions together for their sake.
