Hagfish at my door
I hear the hagfish scraping at my door Leeches pour through cracks in walls. Here to grind my soul to dust, To turn my world to carrion.
Slime is dripping from the ceiling One small window next to me. I raise the blinds, I see abyss Water's crushed all that there is. Like whalefall on the benthic floor Worms make void of dead world's form.
Door buckles, sinews break, Cracks grow wider, splinters spray. The paint peels, veins pulsate, Leeches chant, calling my name. The hagfish burrows further in Drawn in by the smell of sins.
I hear the hagfish slither past my door Through my flesh and in my bones. There it nests and slowly bleeds, Viscera fusing as we breathe. Blessing is the pale worm's curse I'm the hagfish from womb of corpse.
