Almost startled by the girl’s gesture Calvin, with a slight bit of hesitation, shook the girl’s hand. “Calvin Reid, hi.” He then smiled at the girl and this time it wasn’t fake. “I don’t understand why you’re doing this but… Consider your effort accepted.”

sweetie, people do things for the hell of it all the time. it’s up to them if they want to do something that makes them feel fulfilled. that’s what a new year’s resolution is about.

“Please effort is all I could possibly want,” he began with a soft one. “It’s all I ever wanted but nobody ever puts effort into me, because nobody ever cares about me.”

“Well, hi I’m Ramona Campbell” she extended her arm with an open hand to introduce herself. “Consider this to be effort being made” she said matching the same soft tone as him, which was vastly different from how they were speaking to each other only moments earlier.

“would i be shamed if i was that lame ass who made resolutions?” 

“No, I suppose I couldn’t do that. Judging behind your back is allowed.”

well, as odd of an outlook that is, i think it’s a good idea because you’re attempting at motivating yourself to do something to change your habits.

everybody needs a reward, people just can’t do things for the hell of it, every single person needs to feel fulfilled.

“Really don’t appreciate this whole motivational speech you’re giving me. I just–What else am I supposed to do f I can’t push people away? Sometimes I just have to be alone.”

“You seriously never stop do you? If anything I won’t even care what the hell I’m feeling on my death bed. The point is I’m dying, why feel anything? The only way I’ll be on my death bed is because I don’t want to feel anything.”
