TAZ Transcribed

Hi everyone! I hope y’all are as excited about Ethersea as we are! Just completed some housekeeping and we’re happy to announce that our catalogue of read-only transcripts has now been updated to include the rest of Amnesty, almost all of Graduation (the last few episodes will be up soon!), and most of Ethersea so far!

Now that the McElroys have announced that TAZ will be going weekly (!!!) we can use all the help we can get with transcribing! Head over to the ~Master Tracking Document~ for links to all the editable documents and to see which episodes need work. Dive right in! Don’t wait for permission! You can consult our Resources and Formatting Guide for transcription software and guidelines for how to format and style our transcripts.

Episodes 15 & 16 are now made into a document and ready to go. I believe one volunteer’s made huge progress with transcribing these episodes already, so that basically leaves formatting.

Blank documents for upcoming episodes 17-24 are linked in the Master Tracking Document, so i encourage you all to check that out when the new episodes drop. I’ll do what I can with posting about a new episode here for everyone.

Yup, anyone can edit the transcripts! We don’t require anything from anyone who wants to contribute :)

We are still continuing the project for TAZ Graduation, some personal life stuff and tumblr’s terrible “you can’t edit a post on desktop that you made on mobile” thing threw a wrench into updating this regularly. I’ll try to be more on top of that.

Posts for the links to Graduation docs so far are going up soon. Most of them are transcribed. For episodes 4 & 5 (and the last half ish of 3) I pasted from the MaxFun transcript, so there’s still formatting to do on those.

I know Justin’s doing some weird accent for Firbolg, but for accessibility it would be easiest to just transcribe the words he’s actually saying and avoid trying to phonetically type out what it sounds like he’s saying in the accent.

I’m also going to queue up answers to some questions we’ve gotten in our inbox so that you’re not spammed in one day.

Yes, you can use TAZscripts transcripts for translations! This goes for any fan translation projects. Volunteers transcribed the show to help make it more widely available and accessible, so the transcripts can be used for anything that helps make the show accessible to more people-- like translations into another languages.

Apologies for the lack of activity on the Tumblr. My 2019 was eaten up with significant health problems. New transcripts have been going forward, with progress recorded on the Master Tracking document: the first two episodes of Graduation are done! Most coordination happens now on the TAZscripts Discord, which you can join here: discord.gg/HfxaaxQ

After a long journey, the Amnesty finale is here. It’s a long one, so any transcribing help would be greatly appreciated.
