Start of fall '26... and we're still playing this game. Madelynn told him not to be awkward, but how can he not be when he's trying to remember how to breathe this close to her? They’ve spent their whole lives as a 'we,' but as senior year kicks off, the 'we' is starting to feel a lot more complicated than it used to be. He had the perfect opening. The lighting was right, the moment was there... and he asked her about basketball practice. Maybe tomorrow, Conrad. Maybe tomorrow.
