Family Dramatics Legacy Challenge//TheSims 4
General Rules
No cheats that serve to enhance gameplay over other simmers
You can use “freerealestate on” when starting the first-gen.
Each career and aspiration must be completed unless expressly stated otherwise (if a career branch is not specified, then the choice is completely up to you)
Packs required: Discover University, Cottage Living, City Living, Get to Work, Seasons, and Parenthood.
Optional Pack: For Rent
I made this legacy challenge mostly because I wanted more drama in my game and to have generations actually affect the next. After looking around, I found the Family Dynamics legacy challenge, which has a similar vibe.
That’s about it, so enjoy! :)
Family Dramatics Legacy Challenge
~
GEN 1 - “but do i really want that?”
Traits: Neat, Ambitious, Mean
Career: Freelancer, Artist branch then Artist
Aspiration: Successful Lineage, then switch to Painter Extraordinaire
You’ve always dreamed of having a perfect family. You’ve always wanted to be an artist. Well, why not do both? You get married young and achieve the “white picket fence” ideal. However, you realize that it wasn’t enough. Was being a stay-at-home mother what you really wanted? Cleaning, parenting- did you really like it, or did you just love the idea of a perfect family?
Marry as a Young Adult
Start as a freelancer, then quit and join the artist career before turning into an adult
Have at least 3 children
Maintain a good relationship with your kids until they become children.
Have at least one daughter that is not the eldest (this is relevant for the next-gen)
Complete at least 3/4s of either aspiration
Reach Level 10 painting skill
Reach the top of your career
~
GEN 2 - “golden child”
Traits: Active, Family Oriented, Perfectionist
Career: Doctor
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
You were your family’s golden child, as well as the eldest. Due to your parents being workaholics, you ended up raising your siblings. You move out as a young adult into an apartment. One day, your teen sister shows up at your door pregnant. You take her in, along with the baby. Then she runs away, leaving you with her baby. You don’t even know what you truly want out of life, and now you have to raise a child that isn’t yours.
Gain all character values bonus traits
Max all skills as a toddler
Have an A in high school and elementary
Move into an apartment
Maintain a high relationship with all of your siblings
Have no biological children of your own (adoption is an option)
Max out your career and Aspiration
Notes: I suggest going to university for this sim, so that they have a part-time job as a teen, as a young adult in uni, then a full-time career so that you complete your aspiration. If you do not have the Discover University pack, then you can work 2 part-time jobs at once.

GEN 3 - “this bitter heart of mine”
Traits: Erratic, Goofball, Vegan
Career: Entertainer, Musician branch
Aspiration: Friend of The World
You were raised by your relative, and you never wanted much as a child. You never thought much of romance either, until you met someone who you just clicked with. You got married to each other fast and had a child. Everything was perfect; you couldn’t be happier— until you caught your spouse cheating. Shocked and disbelieving, you and your spouse decide to try again, for your kids. However, once a cheater, always a cheater, you learn.

Aspiration: Serial Romantic OR Villainous Valentine
After witnessing the disaster that was your parent’s love life, you stopped believing in love. Relationships… well, they were too messy. Commitment just wasn’t your thing. The few times you tried, it ended just as disastrously as your parents. Rich, successful, single- what more could you ask for? You were living your satisfactory lifestyle until a one-night stand resulted in a child, causing you to discover that there are different types of love.

You grew up as one of the elite, and your parent never hesitated to spoil you. Money? It was never a problem. You never felt the need to meet your other parent. You had everything you could ever want. You loved writing and met someone who felt the same. You get engaged. You have a beautiful wedding. You buy a house. You have a child.

You’ve always loved plants, which is weird since one of your parents was eaten by one. You love the outdoors, but you were rarely allowed to venture outside due to your parents’ fear of losing you too. During the time spent indoors, you find another passion in video gaming and programming.

You’ve always been more attracted to the humble lifestyle, but give up your dreams to support your spouse. You get married early and play the role of a politician’s partner, but soon your differences cause a rift in your marriage. Tired of sacrificing for your partner’s career, you run away with your child to the countryside and live out your cottagecore dreams.

~
GEN 8 - “unlucky in love”
Traits: Materialistic, Lazy, Noncommittal
Career: Self-employed
Aspiration: Mansion Baron
You were never satisfied with the humble life as your parent was. You always sought money and fame. Mostly money; the fame part was optional. However, you weren’t really willing to put in the work of… well, the getting-rich part. As an alternative, you marry rich. But oh no, your spouse has died in a terrible accident… leaving all their money to you… What a coincidence that happens once, twice, three times… Maybe you’re just unlucky in love.
Have a low relationship with the parent who raised you
Move to the city with your rich politician parent as a teen

GEN 9 - “bigger is better”
Traits: Clumsy, Ambitious, Childish
Career: Business (Investor Branch)
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy → Big Happy Family
You never understood why your parent didn’t do much with all the power they had. You wonder- what if you could do more? And you did- you did so much more. Properties, businesses, people- everything you touched turned to gold. You become a revered Investor, earning lots of money. Although it was for love, you marry into more money- then your spouse dies, and you’re the sole inheritor. At one point, you get bored… You were always taught that bigger is better, but was it really true? Then, your parent dies tragically, leaving you with even more money.
