IVF was always something I viewed as the scary “last resort” and an unimaginable amount of hard work and details. We’ve been on this journey for over 3 years, and the journey of IVF more specifically for almost 3 months. I’ve been taking pills and/or injecting myself with hormones since July 7th, and all of the medications/labs/ultrasounds have led up to today. Today we transfer two itty bitty 5 day old embryos, who we have worked so hard for, and are just hoping for the best. I’ve learned a lot about myself through this challenging journey, and know that God will never give me more than I can handle; I am certain of that. I am so grateful for the countless prayers and positive thoughts. Infertility is a road that most don’t understand and simply cannot empathize with, but we are truly appreciative of everyone’s encouragement. Today my maternal Grandmother, whom I never had the chance of meeting, would have turned 81, so I am looking at that as a really good omen that today September 28 is transfer day. I also lost my paternal Grandmother last week, so I know she is doing all she can from heaven to make this work out.
