It never hurt my feelings or anything because I was like first of all I’m literally just some guy, and second, I’m an adult with adult responsibilities and don’t measure my worth by physical attractiveness at all? It was just such an out of touch and outdated thing to focus on—like they had no other life experience besides “getting older and not looking 20 anymore must be the ultimate insult!” And concerning that they had such a sad and shallow view of self worth. They were either like 13 or very unwell.

It would be pretty uncomfortable. I’ve always had at least a window unit if the apartment doesn’t come with central air.

Think of it like a video game you really like. You pick it up now and then and make a little progress. Even if you haven’t played in a while, you still like it and never “quit playing.” Other things just took priority.
