Realised I didn't have one for this blog so here we go :v
I've been a casual artist for decades but had a long hiatus and only started drawing again a couple years ago. Very recently I started experimenting with digital art so I'm posting a lot of that. I do like traditional art though (mostly pencil and ink) and the majority of the art here is traditional.

I'm doing a collab Yakuza (OC-heavy) fic w/ @the-ship-maker-2 so here's what our OCs look like during that time. Here's mine below (v sketchy):
I think they look somewhat younger or maybe it's just the different hairstyles/hair length, idkkkk (context - I usually draw their 2012 versions)
And then her OC Asuka, who is 17, this is just an initial concept but it's pretty good so far.

So a couple of my Yakuza/LaD OCs had some redesigns, and here they are! under the readmore ->
Katsuyori
First is Kacchan, I mean, Katsuyori. Not only did he have a redesign but he had personality change (somewhat) and so many re-namings too! Originally he was this older gentleman-type, paler, a little suave and very serious and competent. I wouldn't call him suave now (lol) but he's still the other two things. I actually went back awhile ago and re-wrote some of his earlier scenes because his speech had changed a little - in his first scene I still had his old personality in mind. Now he speaks a *little* less formally.
His original name was Dango (which I really liked, but had to change it because it was too similar to Daigo), then he was Takahiro, then I gave that name to his deputy, then he made his intro as Katsuyo, but a reader pointed out that could be mixed up with Naoki Katsuya (canon character) and I was despairing - then I found "Katsuyori" as an alternative, which was basically the previous name with an extra syllable and it sounded different enough so you can't mix up the two~ yayyy~
Next is
Zenshiro
Zenshiro had soo many redesigns. He was originally was a bit more of a thug, more brash and loud, because I wanted him to contrast to Yashiro's calmer attitude. I lost the original sketch of his v1 design so here's smth I drew up that replicates it ^^ As you can see he had a bald/shaved head, tatts and piercings. (Tatts are just placeholder scribbles and not what was planned for the permanent designs)
I'm actually going to recycle his original design for another minor Yakuza OC >:3 because it looks cool
Below are his v2 and v3 designs I unearthed from an old sketchbook. V2 I posted to this blog and you can find it if you dig deep enough in Zenshiro's tag lol.
In v2 he looks much younger imo, I think when I drew v2 I'd planned him to be mid-20s. V3 is older and actually looks like his age LOL Zenshiro is actually supposed to be in his early 30s (in 2012).

He still looks a little young but idc. He always looked young for his age, I decided. His hair is usually slicked back but lately in my fic he lets it get rumpled :3 a lil messy :3
anddd that's all, I was originally going to put in sketches for some other OCs as well but I ran out of juice. ^^;;

Takahiro
Takahiro v1 was younger and originally named Seizaki Hide. He had a more peppy, earnest, eager puppy-like personality that drove Katsuyori insane lol (intentional). I had some old drafts where I wrote some scenes with Hide but I stupidly deleted them when I changed him into Takahiro. 🫠🫠 anyway Takahiro is more composed and watchful than Hide....but still a bit of a goober. BUT he's competent and serious when needs must.
(He also has a small crush on Katsuyori 😏😏 but I'm bad at hinting at this). Spoilers nothing will happen between them sorry 😬 I prefer the yearning to the actual romo stuff. Also Kacchan doesn't do workplace romances that's extremely OOC for him lol. unless there was some extreme life-altering event that shattered this barrier......heh....then maybe
TECHNICALLY Zenshiro and Katsuyori's final designs here are not their "current" ones, but they are the final designs I decided on for my fanfic, which is set in 2012. Their present-day designs I haven't posted yet ¬w¬;; (shocking how much older they are now, my baybees are now middle-aged!!!)
abandoned wip, i don't have the skill for the lower half 🙄🙄 it was a redraw but the original piece didn't technically NEED it so I'm not too bothered about trashing it. Moving on....

(WIP) my last redraw of my Shield-6* guys. If I have to flip the canvas one more time.... ¬_¬ god he's still lopsided I'm going to kms
*Shield-6 is the name of Daigo's original bodyguard team in my hurtcember 2024 series. One of the plot points is that they were forcibly swapped out by Majima and replaced with his own untrained men - my majiboy OCs! - in order to protect Daigo while he recovers from an injury. So Shield-6 were all put on paid leave, until the Omi threat arrived, then they were called back in to work as security staff, and guard Kiryu while he acts as interim chairman...
Anyway this is Kenshi (L) and Hodai (R) /o/ They're in charge of Shield-6: Hodai is team commander and Kenshi is his deputy. They're very minor OCs and have only appeared once so far in my fic. Sadly the Shield-6 team has to be in the peripheral, my majiboy OCs take the center stage and there's already too many of them! |D;;
A shame because I really like drawing these 2 ;; even more shamefully they're my only fat OCs - I need to draw more fat people, it's fun and different! x They aren't just fat tho - it's fat and muscle!! They're skilled fighters and aren't afraid to crack heads when their team is being obnoxious.
Hodai is very gung-ho and somewhat loud, Kenshi is calmer but can be swept up by Hodai's energy and become equally enthusiastic XD Also it's not real obvious here but Kenshi's right eye is burned and scarred, and he can only see out of his left (not that this stops him in any way).
(WIP) Re-drawing some of the Shield-6* guys :), here's Sekitaro and Tetsumi (OCs). Tetsumi (right) turned out soo cute wtf
He is just an eepy man! -_- zzz When you first meet him he's basically asleep at a table and doesn't wake even when a violent scuffle starts. He only wakes up when Katsuyori (OC) kicks the table lol.
*Shield-6 is the name of Daigo's original bodyguard team in my hurtcember 24 series. They're all minor OCs tho, you barely see them and they only show up in part 20 (so far) ;; but trust me they get up to shenanigans
Some lil tidbits about Tetsumi since I can't go on about him in my fic:
Looks are deceiving ¬u¬ He's actually the most alert and "tuned-in" of the team. He has excellent - if selective - hearing and spatial awareness. That's why it doesn't matter if he falls asleep. His brain processes what's going on in the background and can react speedily. Fight going on in front of him? Who cares. Boss kicks the table? Ah shit, time to wake up...
He's sleepy in the day because he's usually on night shift with Sekitaro. Then on his nights off he stays up all hours flirting with women in chatrooms.......yeah lmao. He's not sleazy tho. Women just be fascinated by his tired puppy looks and lazy charm. If he's not doing that then he's playing online games. Dude just go to bed...
He applied to join Shield-6 (after securing a recommendation from his former patriarch) because he heard it was "just standing around all day guarding the chairman" for good pay. He passed the bodyguard course with good marks but was internally crying and sobbing the entire time because it was most mentally and physically taxing thing he'd ever done in his life. And it turned out that being on Shield-6 was not a lazy job at all but too late! He's locked into it now LOL
Despite his good hearing and reflexes he still spaces out when on the job and just, like, in general. Good thing his partner Sekitaro (left) is there to keep him in check! They call each other Seki and Tetsu.
Tetsumi likes cats, tea, shogi, hanging out w/ women (another reason he regrets joining S-6 - he finds men kind of boring and too rough), going to hostess clubs (a nice break from chatrooms), being in green spaces, watching courtroom thrillers, and doing mind puzzles x
...However he is constantly broke because he spends too much at hostess clubs.
Back on my illustration redraws. Maji edition! First two are rejects, but I put em here anyway to showcase my ~process or w/e;;

I was gonna reject this one too but changed my mind after I fixed his hair. The angle is soo dramatic and the greyscale makes him so menacing I think O.O;; he's going to look even more threatening when I'm done + add the extra panel ¬w¬ it's all intentional, in this illustration he is PISSED~

introducing another OC from my uhhh let's just call it the Sinful Love-verse (SLverse), because that's what the original fic was called (now long deleted). This is my version of Samael, "Venom of God" and chief angel of death. :v
Height: 7ft
Eyes: Gold
Hair: Purple
Personality: Bitter, snarky, sarcastic, could be kind if you managed to pull at their heartstrings, secretly romantic, smart, competent
Redesign notes: he/him pronouns -> they/them pronouns, formerly male -> now androgyne. Also they now have tiddies :3
Some rambling on their backstory -> (LONG read)
.....First some things to mention: I'm not good depicting this, but my other angel OC Nemphis has one black wing and one white wing, and is technically a hybrid angel, or a fusion of angel and fallen angel. When he lost his angelic grace by sleeping with Mephisto, he was supposed to lose his angelhood and transform into a fallen angel.
But he didn't. He retained his angelic core, as well as his new demonic one. So he became a perfect hybrid, with total balance of good and evil - hence one white wing, one black wing.
^This is extremely rare. Unfortunately angel-fallen angel hybrids are seen as threats to Heaven (because they cannot be controlled/are not bound by Heaven/to God, and also are extremely powerful) - and so they're usually exterminated by Heaven.
Nemphis was captured and due to be executed but that whole story is gone with my fic so nvm all that. I just wanted to get the concept of angel hybrids out of the way. Moving on:
We now come to Samael...who has two black wings, and one white wing.
Samael is also an angelic-fallen angel hybrid. BUT the difference is, they aren't a "natural" hybrid like Nemphis is. They are the result of divine engineering - in fact, they are God's failed experiment.
Why was God trying to create his own hybrids? Shrug. Probably a form of angelic super-soldier, which is what Samael became. Samael was supposed to have one white and one black wing as well, to have good and evil in perfect balance within them - but the process failed.
Instead Samael is now more fallen angel than angel...but as a direct child of God, they are still bound to Heaven, unlike Nemphis. And also unlike Nemphis, Samael somehow retained their angelic grace.
God wanted to cast Samael out of Heaven, and nearly did so, near the beginning of time, but Samael grabbed Michael the Archangel's* wings as they were pushed (Michael was the one who threw them out) and nearly brought the other angel down with them.
Seeing that Samael was too dangerous to cast aside completely, God let them stay to serve Heaven instead, under tight and vicious control. Samael became the chief angel of death, an angel of the Apocalypse, and a high commander in the Angel Army.
Lucifer became aware of Samael's existence. And seeing how fair's fair, he asked to ALSO have some control of Samael, since Samael was more fallen angel than angel.
This was actually careful diplomacy. Imperfect hybrid though they are, Samael is actually extremely powerful and destructive and Lucifer didn't want God to have complete control over them. God relented. So Samael works for Heaven while moonlighting for Hell
|D;; (They aren't happy about this situation, or their life in general).
So what was their role in my SL story? .......I actually forgot, but I *think* it had something to do with getting Mephisto, Sunday, and their angel "friend" (captive) [I forgot his name, but he was an angel of winter], into Heaven to break Nemphis out of angel prison or whatever. :D;;
OH Mephisto was also totally smitten with them and wanted to tap that ass soooo bad but he's an incubus so no one batted an eye about this and Samael could easily rebuff him because they're strong af and Mephisto is a weakling lol
They also originally had 2 flaming katanas as weapons but I can't be assed to draw those. I might just give them one cool sword instead.
They also had a developing crush on Sunday I may or may not do something with. Idk.
TL;DR Samael is God's shittiest unloved unwanted powerful demon child and is v bitter about it. At least they're smokin hot with an ass that won't quit and perfect tits :) and a big ol dick :)) what are they complaining about anyway SMH /j

*Michael was also a chara in my fic. Lucifer showed up to take Nemphis' soul after Mephisto didn't give him up, and Michael appeared and rescued him. But he was fatally wounded by Lucifer in the process and "died", but revived later. Also in my fic, Lucifer and Michael were brothers, which is a popular media interpretation and I just like it :)
I'm re-drawing some of my illustrations for my hurtcember 2024 series (a long ongoing Yakuza/LaD fic, fairly OC-heavy) and here's the first small batch of them! Featuring my OCs and canon characters.

I call these yakuza OCS my majiboys because they're all Majima men, and in my fic, set in 2012, Majima has appointed them as temp bodyguards for Daigo, to guard him as he recovers from an injury. There's actually ten in total, but only 8 are on active duty. I also have moreee yakuza ocs other than those guys, you can see them all over my art blog and they have minor/side-roles.
I just got a tablet a couple months ago and am new to digital art so ;o; these are not perfect. And I can't be asked to draw proper backgrounds hhhh
Brief descriptions from top to bottom, left to right ->
Top, first pic: Majima introducing his man Bensuke (OC) to Daigo (offscreen), with Kiryu and Saejima beside them. They're all standing in Daigo's kitchen.
2nd left: Shiden (OC, purple hair) looking downcast and shaken, Zenshiro (OC, bottom panel) looks on, his face covered in blood spatter.
3rd right: First Bensuke appearance. Keizo (OC, bottom panel) is angry upon seeing him.

(WIP) i would literally rather draw 1000 heads at weird angles than a front-facing head :))))) this took me maybe 3-5 mins whereas when i drew someone facing the viewer (in the top panel, not shown here) it took 7 deleted attempts and 2hrs of seethingTM.
Anyway this is Keizo (OC)! when does he NOT looked pissed off lmaoo (when he's around Daigo) ;3 In this case it's because he just caught sight of Bensuke (another OC) and Keizo haaaates himmmm~~~~ Another redraw wip of an illustration for my hurtcember 2024 series.

I *genuinely* cannot tell if I just suck at drawing my own OCs or not - because I swear I was using older drawings as a ref, but Zenshiro came out...like this? by which I mean.....was he always this qt owo;; or am changing his design without meaning to. Or did I just improve and therefore his design also got...better looking?? idk.

anyway zenshiro is one of my many yakuza OCs, he appears in my hurtcember 2024 series on a03, as one of the Majima men assigned to be Daigo's temp bodyguard. >:3 He's a former assassin, has the personality of a smug cat, and his irezumi is a Kasha (evil neko demon), but he's also kinda wolfish - and when together with his mentor Yashiro (OC), they're both known as the wolf pack/the wolves >:33

^ snippet of a re-draw I did for my hurtcember series, featuring my Yakuza/RGG OC Yashiro, whom i've drawn a lot lately because he's my babyyy. he's so coollll i swear;; this is his 2012 design btw, that's when the fic is set. He's a Majima man, formerly Nishikiyama Family, formerly Nikkyo, one of the many bodyguards assigned by Majima to protect Daigo. Also he's sort of wolf-coded, which is why he has pointy teefy >w<
Once I have enough redrawn illustrations I'll post them in a mini-batch here on this blog so you don't have to go hunting around for them in my longg series~
