"Understatement of the century," Benedict replied with a slightly exaggerated shudder. "I suppose that's a lesson on my underestimating you and your word though. In which case, I ought to make it up to you. Grave insult, as it is."

"Very grave indeed. The sort of grave that in a different century I might have challenged you to a duel over. I might still.....unless, as you say, you make it up to me,"

"Wasn't it? Maybe you need to be a little more clear,"

"Now you're just attempting to divert it onto me... Is it not easier to say you're not planning on answering me to begin with?"

Taryn shrugged, "Perhaps I would have if you'd been clearer, but now we shall never know," she replied, knowing full well she probably wouldn't have answered him and that really the question hadn't been that unclear.

"And why should it be?"

"Well, mostly by sake of the fact that you thought you were alone. I didn't mean to... interrupt."

"Then surly it is you who should be embarrassed for interrupting,"

"No, no, please no more details. The visuals I'm already gathering are abysmal at best."

She could have easily forget she was in a shop and not a library if it wasn't for the distant ring of the old fashioned metal bell above the door every so often. Most of the times it had rung so far on this visit she hadn't seen the patron who had arrived before it quietly rang again on their departure. But not long after she'd noted it again, she heard footsteps heading her way.

"O-oh..." Alec squeaked when he saw that it wasn't Helenus he'd heard. "Sorry."

At the surprised sound Taryn looked up to see who it was and wasn't entirely surprised to see Alec there. "Hello Alec," she greeted, before looking back at the book in front of her. "He's out if it's Helenus you're looking for. He mentioned something about the post office when he dropped off a cup of tea for me,"

Dimitri considered her for a moment. "Apologies for the interruption. But I was hoping you could tell me if my order had come in?"

"Considering I do not work here, I'm afraid I cannot," Taryn replied, looking up from the tome she was reading.

"Darling....if you are the one in charge of running this shop while Helenus' is out you really ought to pay more attention to your customers. I've been in here nearly twenty minutes."

"Then it's a good job I'm not," she commented without looking up. But she did as she turned in her seat and added, "Did you try ringing the bell on the counter?" she nodded back towards where that was near the entrance to the shop.

"Unless you tell me to stop," she said, taking his hand

He laughed a bit. "I didn't say anything of the sort, did I?"

"You did not," she said, starting to pull him towards the dance floor.

"Depends on the drink,"

Izzy smirked at that. "True. And I did go for one of the fae ones, so... all bets are off," she replied, raising the glass before taking a generous sip.

"In that case you're definitely in for an interesting night I'd say," Taryn commented with a slight laugh. "Or should I say we are," she amended, lifting her own fae drink.
