If  they  were  ghosts  then  let  them  meet  in  the  middle  where  grief,  sorrow  and  power  entwined  into  one.  He  would  not  be  overtaken,  as  she  would  not  be  overtaken,  and  they  would  haunt  the  mausoleum  of  earth  together.

What  else  could  justify  a  father’s  cruel  hand  ?  What  else  could  comfort  her  when  closed  eyes  beheld  her  sister  suspended  beneath  that  murderous  blue  light  ?  There  was  no  lesson  in  a  parents’  ire  -  no  justification  for  a  daughter  taken  before  her  time.  If  there  were  to  be  a  lesson  she’d  want  none  of  it  ;  no  psalm  or  scripture  to  carry  like  gospels.  Dahlia  spoke  as  if  though  such  would  give  her  comfort,  yet  Kor  found  no  mercy  in  it.

She  had  always  been  a  poor  consult.  Too  rough  around  the  edges  -  her  placations  were  dry  and  flaked  like  brittle  cobblestones.  “ You  will  burn  yourself  out  on  meaning, ”  she  answered,  that  single  eye  fixating  on  her  as  if  to  pluck  the  arguments  before  they  came,  and  her  mouth  twisted  ruefully  in  the  corner.  “ That’s  your  ideocracy.  You  believe  everything  has  a  purpose. ”
