In Paris is a book built on friendship, between Jeanne, Lauren and Chloé, their editor. An idea that blossomed one evening over a drink on the terrace of the Deux Amis café: “We found that we had the same vision, that we were cool, though not in an obnoxious way - we were chilled”. Jeanne and Lauren both cultivate a sense of cool that relies on imperfections to give them their charm. “We don’t try to be perfect, we don’t try to create ‘looks’, it’s more of a lifestyle choice”. Their secret? Their love of Paris.

An ode to Paris

“It is the city that dresses us and makes us beautiful.” And this, regardless of whether you come from Paris or not. The girls in the book weren’t all born in Paris, but they’re all as Parisienne as each other. “You are Parisienne when you live in Paris when you love your city and you want to stay there – you don’t need to have been born there.” When we ask them separately who the perfect Parisienne would be, they both reply with the city itself, but dislike the notion of an idea: “there are a thousand ways to be Parisienne and live in Paris”.
