In the time since I last posted here a few things have changed. I left my job at TIME after about two and a half years for a position as a photo editor on the National desk at The New York Times. It was difficult to leave a place that became a new home for me when I moved here, taught me most of what I know about photo editing, and introduced me to so many new, amazing people.
The decision, though, was the right one. Now, I'm assigning more photographers to shoot a wider range of stories than I could ever have imagined and seeing them through to publication in print and online. I've already been obsessed with politics Mississippi, fascinated by fracking in Colorado, perplexed by a tragic stabbing in Wisconsin and charmed by a country music legend from Tennessee. If these first three months are any indication, I'm in for a hell of a fun ride.
