problematic take of the day: listen, we all want to believe celebrimbor was built like a brick shithouse, and curufin and feanor had 8-packs or whatever. but unfortunately. aside form a few side projects (one notable red-plumed helmet and sharper-than-thy-tongue sword, for example) celebrimbor and curufin made jewelry, and feanor was making lab-created gems. unless they had hobbies that promote the brick shithouse physique, they might actually have been run-of-the-mill stembos i fear

Haha, I realized I fell for this collective unconscious and now I want to redraw my picture of Celebrimbor. Well, at least I draw Fëanor skinny and pale (I associate thinness with madness and obsession). On the other hand, regarding Celebrimbor, I thought it was a rather cute contrast between appearance and occupation. Imagine a huge muscleman with calloused fingers doing fine work while wearing huge magnifying glasses. Actually, both Fëanor and Celebrimbor were involved with more than just the Silmarils and the Rings. At least Fëanor was a warrior, and Celebrimbor created the Gates of Moria with the dwarves. But yes, there are countless images of them standing with a hammer over an anvil; that's the first association with the word "blacksmith," but for anything else, you need to look for references and do some research.
