Can I express in words how much my daughter amazes me? Is sometimes an answer? She's brilliant, and kind, and inquisitive, but also tends to shy away, and just... hilarious to spend a day with. Today she was, as she likes to say sometimes, "Jacked up!" Sometimes she goes through these days, where she has all this energy and no where to exert it! Today was one of those days. Even after we had her walk to and from and around the grocery store with us (where she was in fact very well behaved), she was still very much so "jacked up". So we had a quick bath, got jammied up and put on some Frosty the snowman. Her little brother is at the age of 8 and a half months now. He's observing everything and learning simple motor skills like clapping and waving and you know, just being all around adorable. So today we were teaching him to stick out his tongue and make that cute little "pthhhht" sound. (Yes, that's a technical term) Odie starts making the same noise from the other side of the couch. Then we talk about teaching her brother cute stuff, our usual discussions back and forth which eventually die down into silence. Now at this point she's still not completely settled. She's standing on the couch swaying around, sometimes sitting, sometimes not, wearing her grey and green striped Santa onsie. Ash and I are still making funny faces at each other when suddenly, she starts walking over to tell us, "Don't bother me with details!" (Evidently, Professor Hinkle says this to Frosty)
