It was a long day at schoolāa long week, reallyāand you wanted nothing else than to spend time by yourself. Youād probably sleep a lot that weekend, especially Friday night. However, your boyfriend had other plans.
Despite how much you loved him, you had to admit that Kuroo was exhausting once in a while. Youād never decline an invite to hang out, but you listened to him talk about the latest thing he was learning in class and you were ready to fall asleep.
āYou stopped listening ten minutes ago,ā he said with a sigh, holding his hand out for you. āTalk to me, baby. Whatās going on with you today?ā
āIām tired, Tetsu, Iām sorry,ā you mumble, placing your hand in his. He slowly leans back on his bed, pulling you on top of him. You let yourself fall on him, laying your head over his steady heartbeat. āI promise I was trying to pay attentionā¦ā
āDonāt apologize, youāre okay.ā He played with your fingers, his other arm wrapping around you protectively. āDo you wanna talk or just cuddle for a while?ā
You sigh. He was too amazingābeing able to read you like a book, and knowing what you needed when. āYou donāt have to sit here with me, babe, I can go home and take a napā¦ā
He tilted your chin up so you could look at him. āOr you can stay hereāā he ran his thumb gently over your cheekā āand stay with me. Because I love you and I like to spend time with you . Even when youāre sleepy.ā
You were silent for a moment, contemplating what he said. āAre you sure, Tetsu?ā you asked finally.
He kissed the top of your head, squeezing you a little tighter for a moment. āYes, I am. Go to sleep, listen to me talk for a while, I donāt care. Do what you need to. Iāll be here when you wake up.ā
You smile at the sun coming through the windowāmorning person or not, when you got to wake up and get moving on your own schedule on the weekends, it was always nice. Being that you woke up earlier than your boyfriend, Koshi, you decided to make breakfast to bring him. So you stood, stirring the eggs the best you could and hoping not to burn things.
You heard quiet footsteps padding out towards the kitchen and you sighed. So he was awake anyway. You were trying to get it done before he woke up so he could have breakfast in bed, but he probably woke up when he realized your warmth wasnāt there anymore.
āGood morning,ā he said, cutting himself off with a yawn. āI wasnāt expecting to wake up to an empty bed this morning. You okay?ā
āI was hoping to wake you up with food, but you kinda spoiled that,ā you tease, dumping his eggs on a plate next to you, then turning around to face him. āYour tea is almost done. Just the way you like it.ā
āHow did I ever end up with someone as amazing as you?ā he asked, taking your hands and guiding them around his waist. He pulled you into a gentle hug, nuzzling his cold nose into your shoulder.
You laugh, kissing the side of his head. āI love you too, Koshi. Also, good morning because I donāt think I said that yet today.ā
He hummed in reply, only burrowing in the crook of your neck further. Breakfast could wait for a few minutes until he was ready to wake up, you figured. He was still half asleep with you in his arms and probably could fall back asleep standing there.
You played with his messy bedhead, smiling softly. It was mornings like this you always cherished with him--no getting up super early in the morning and barely saying more than āgood morningā to each other because you were both half asleep. No, days off were always good.
And hey, you made breakfast which meant you had an excuse to make him do dishes.

iāll start: falling in love with daishou feels like the build up in a slow song, the first gentle chords on a piano before rising into a grand crescendo, one that makes goosebumps rise on your skin with delight. it captivates you, drawing you in with each note and harmony. you donāt want the show to end, but it has to. it canāt last forever, you realize with great sadness. but just when you think the song is over, it starts over again, a constant melody that you feel in your soul. it never fails to keep you on your toes, and you know youāll never get sick of it even if youāve heard it a million times.
falling in love with Tanaka feels like going to the top of a really high roller coaster (goliath at six flags for reference) feeling the anticipation of the drop that builds up the whole ride up. and when you finally reach the top you look around and embrace being on top of the world. at last you drop wind whipping through your hair screams of excitement and maybe pent of fear leaving you body in an instant taking whatever weight you were caring with it leaving you without a care in the world enjoying the moment, the present.
