Working on the buoy form from the physical model I made. to see if dragging it down so that the fly can get deeper in the water will produce a more benefiting shape for the fly while also catching more waste before going into the baths . The buoy itself may go deeper into the water but the fly can only get so far to stop it from drowning but it gives different organism the opportunity to feed of the waste collected. Some of the waste collected will be dangerous for the organisms to be around this will be part of the scientist team job when collecting data from the buoys to collect the dangerous waste to keep the organisms and swimmers of middle Brighton safe while in the ocean. this will Make the buoys an opportunity for the fly and humans to work together to clean the ocean in collaboration.

Site visit Top photo is of fisherman Bottom two photos are of the glow sticks on the end of the fishing rod ------------------------------------------------ The thing that I found most interesting about the fishing process was the bells the fisherman have at the end of there rods and the green glow sticks that they put at the end of there rods. It creates this very atmospheric experience of working along the pier in pitch darkness with the sound of Belles and waves with as a soundtrack to the pier with the glow sticks being this light installation to the pier it was a very relaxing walk going down and up the pier. What I though us I was walking past the glow sticks is that I Could uses something that glowed or was a colour that contrast the ocean as a marker for the points on my buoy for swimmers as the fisherman are using on there rods.

Site visit At this time of the night it was 8:30 pm So later that night after dinner I explored the pier next to the pool. It was packed with fisherman and fisherwomen there were large groups of people fishing on there pier were it felt they had there own territory. The fisherman had a clear understanding of these invisible lines that separated the groups. All of them were facing in the direction of the sea baths. Scattered amongst the fisherman were groups of couples sitting on the rocks. The pier transforms from a timber and concrete structure to a man made rock wall that protects the docked boats from the open ocean. While walking along the pier I had my first encounter with water rats that are surprisingly large. A fisherman told me that the couples sitting on the rocks that bring food can get attacked by them coz they sit so close to the water they also eat the fisherman bait.

Site visit at 6:00pm I Went to middle Brighton at this time to see what the sites night life was like. Who the users groups are at this time of night and us the weather changes what are the kind of events that are popping up in the area. As it was Grand final day the beach was quiet busy it was the first time that I have seen teenagers to young adults spending time at the beach. Playing football and having picnic some were swimming in the water it had a very strong feeling of date night with post groups of people that had 2 people appeared to be couples. While at there were at least 5 larger groups that had around 15-20 in each group. There was still the normal locals walking there dogs doing there exercise for the day wearing sport wear. The middle Brighton restaurant was full which made me consider the view of the dinners inside the restaurant especially those that are on the second story how far they can see out into the sea and if we're my planed area for my buoys will be an installation they can view from the restaurant.

Testing New model in the water floats extremely well in the water will look at it again tomorrow to see how it last over night

This model is the one that changed the most it's sunk deeper into the water over the last 2 days. The polystyrene still keeps the buoy up straight but it has sunk so the fly would drown once they hatched.
