TEMP HIATUS

is this thing on?? is anyone even still here?? i've been re watching shadowhunters and the brain rot is REAL, i missed alec my boy. does anybody still rp in the shadowhunters fandom anymore???

winter was easily alec’s favorite season-- he loved watching the snow fall to the ground, laying beautifully on the ground untouched. he remembers being younger and playing for hours outside in the snow until he couldn’t feel the tip of his nose anymore. he wasn’t a big fan of the cold, but lately he’s had a warlock to help keep him warm. alec is wearing a sweater and some fuzzy pants (magnus had bought him a pair of super cozy fuzzy pants, and he wasn’t going to say no of course), sitting on the couch in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate when magnus comes over, wearing his own warm clothing, and shivering. alec watches in amusement as he grabs the blanket off the back of the couch, and plops down next to alec, wrapping the blanket around them both. “someone’s cold, hm?” he teased lightly, offering his cup of hot chocolate to the warlock with a smile.

alec made a face at rafael, that look that he’s sure rafael has seen many times as he was growing up. it wasn’t very often rafael got in trouble, but sometimes the occassion called for the dad look as their kids called it.”hey-- i know you’re upset, but don’t speak about bapak like that.” he said firmly, yet soft at the same time. he wasn’t typically a harsh parent, their kids never needed that type of treatment. “he’s just concerned, and i am too.” alec said, watching his son carefully. “i do remember how it can be, all too well. but bottling it all up and keeping it inside? that’s not going to do you any good, rafael. trust me, i know. you don’t have to talk to me, or bapak, or even max. but you should talk to somebody about whatever’s going on.”

he knocks lightly at rafael’s door, giving his son a warning before he opens the door and pokes his head in. “hey, buddy.” he said softly, moving to step inside once he makes sure it’s all clear to fully enter. “bapak tells me you had a bit of a rough day.” alec shuts the door gently behind him, moving over to sit down on the edge of his bed, giving him a small smile in greeting. “want to talk about it?” he offered, knowing sometimes rafael needed awhile to cool down before he was ready to talk about whatever was bothering him at the time, and he certainly wouldn’t force it unless he was ready-- he took after both his dads in that sense. 

he never would understand how he got so lucky, especially with this being his first time in a relationship. he certainly didn’t see healthy relationships from his own parents, who seemed to dislike each other more and more as time passed. he honestly couldn’t even remember the last time his parents spent time together. but with magnus? he couldn’t imagine not seeing this man every day, not being in his presence. it always made his day better, getting to see the man he was so infatuated with, that he would do anything for him. “i’ll always make time for you.” and he would stick true to that. he leaned in, brushing a kiss across the mans forehead with a small hum, closing his eyes for a moment and leaning against him, soaking in the affection while he could. “i haven’t, no. but, could we stay like this for a minute?”

his life might be a bit on the crazy side with everything going on and the upcoming war, but he had magnus and that was enough to make him forget for just a little while. he could think back on their date nights or a memory he was fond of (and there were several already lingering in his mind) and suddenly his bad mood would be gone. “would you rather i be in a bad mood?” he said with a small hum, letting his hand fall down to magnus’ waist and rest it there. “that’s just what i like to call the magnus bane effect.” it didn’t seem to matter what happened in his day or how many demons he had to face (literally) magnus could always put him in a good mood. and if he couldn’t see him, talking to him on the phone worked just as well, too. “seeing you makes my night better.” 

he knows he hasn’t really had time for magnus, and he felt bad about that. everything was crazy at the institute (though when wasn’t it?) so that meant less time for things he wanted to do. of course magnus was a saint about it and ever so patient with him, even though he just wants to spend time with alec. so when he peers over and sees magnus standing there with a look on his face that says please don’t say no, how can alec resist? he gives him a small smile, because really he can’t help it. “you’re asking me out?” he gave an amused chuckle. “where?”
