She had been doing so well – although part of her felt as though she was only doing well because of the alcohol her small body had been consuming. After her split with Teagan, she almost fell into a straight depression because of the fact of not only losing her —- but also losing her best friend, someone she would tell everything to. She didn’t deal with the pain, she didn’t deal with the pain of failing papers, she didn’t deal with anything because she was doped up on her anti-depressants. Nodding her head, Bella allowed the woman to touch her shoulder before taking in a deep, shaky breath.

A small smile tugged at Skye’s lips before she shrugged her other shoulder slightly. “Just — don’t like leaving her alone, you know?”

“Shit shit shit shit,” the elder Smanderson cursed to herself before picking up her body and moving herself around the corner, crouching down enough to just rest her elbows on her knees before taking in a deep breath. “I can’t — fuck,” she cursed a little louder, praying on one else was around.

If there was one thing Calvin was good at, it was denial. “Yeah, okay,” Calvin forced out a laugh, promptly standing back up instead of staying eye level with her sister. Deny, avoid the topic. “Can I get you anything else?”

Talia watched her sister just get up as if she was ready to leave, and it shocked her. She couldn’t believe she was ready to shrug off her words like it was nothing. “Did you hear me?” Talia questioned. She wanted to believe that was it.

“Your giving me love advice when you don’t even know how to handle it yourself? Aren’t we functional?” A chuckle came from the woman before taking in a deep breath. “I’ll figure something out, until then, maybe we should make something for mom — maybe she’s hungry.”

“How the hell do I do that? I just started talking to my mom again after she was diagnosed, I’m clearly horrible when it comes to feelings and emotions.”

“I — no. Maybe I never did but it’s clear he wants me at a distance.”

“No problem,” she said before finally letting her lips turn into a small smile as she began to let out a laugh. “No, he knows nothing. At all, actually. Doesn’t know anything about me and I kept it that way so that he was at a distance, after the whole thing with mom, it was easier keeping everyone at a distance.”
