Tonight... was a full circle moment for me. One of my first fashion articles was about #Ghana designer @OswaldBoateng. He has been my favorite menswear designer for over a decade. In fact, when I took my first trip to London, I made a beeline to 30 Savile Row. And I experienced divine intervention when I ran into him President @BarackObama's first inauguration . This Black History Month has been a piece of work. Less than two months after Prada removed racist products from sale, and a week after Gucci removed a blackface balaclava, and days after Burberry released a hoodie with a noose, I was starting to lose hope in some of the biggest global luxury brands. . But tonight, @DapperDanHarlem helped turn it around. He was the guest speaker of a Black History Month discussion sponsored by @Macys and began the talk a 10-minute slide presentation about awareness and activism. For the following 30 minutes, he touched on culture, branding, Harlem, and accountability. . At this time, I am not going to go into my thoughts about the incidents with Prada, Gucci, Burberry, and Adidas. I want to spend the rest of February CELEBRATING Black culture and achievement.
