Truth Be Told

"Right… definitely not… ever." She nodded once, knowing that Aaron would never feel like that about her anyway. No one would. It would be silly to think that anyone would ever actually want her. “Heh… yeah… please don’t?” She raised an eyebrow, hoping she could at least keep Aaron safe from it all. “I’ve talked to Erik… but not Katie. I didn’t know they were that close to her.” She rubbed the back of her neck. “That’s… kind of disconcerting.” 

"Right." Her personal life was none of his business unless she was doing something stupid that could get them both in trouble. Nodding, he just shrugged. "I would only do that if I needed too." Talen only brought violence into place unless it was needed and he doubted he needed to take care of Aaron. "Erik's dangerous, he used to be a little bitch but Hyde broke him; turning him into a monster. Katie can be alright, unless she's provoked. They're a team." Sighing, he tapped his teeth together. "Just don't get on their bad side, there isn't much I could do then." 

"Well, I’m not doing anything behind closed doors…" She muttered quickly, not that her sex life or lack thereof was any of his business, brother or not. "Good… because I tell him pretty much everything." She tugged on the end of her sleeves, pulling it farther over her hand. "And I don’t think I could really stand keeping it to myself. Aaron’s good with secrets though." She started staring off and found herself wishing that there was more vodka. "Is there anyone specific here that I should be worried about?” 

"That's a conversation we don't need to have." Talen shook his head then, laughing some. Sure, they were siblings but not anywhere close to talking about that; not as if Talen wanted to. Nodding, he leaned back on his palms. "Same with Sophia, you've probably seen her around. Cute blonde, friendly." Sophia was basically his partner, regardless of what they did in life; they sort of always ended back together. "I've kept secrets all my life so its not too hard. He better or I'll suffocate him in his sleep." Talen said, wishing he was joking. "Katie Whitney and Erik Berkley. Hyde's pets, just don't get on their bad sides because they can do whatever they want to whoever they want."

"You could have covered your traces a bit, don’t you think? But who am I to judge two little love birds who are just trying to have some special bonding time."

"He wasn't important, what's it matter?" 

He lied to me, Talen. He pretended he was there to protect me, and he and my parents just wanted me dead…

M-my brother… He betrayed me, Talen. I thought he understood, that he cared about me.. He took me right back to my parents.

That’s.. it’s kinda hard to answer that.

T…Talen, it’s— it’s complicated.

"It doesn't matter right now, okay? I just wanna know how you've been."

"Why in the hell are you back here?"

I guess this means I'm home

"But if you don’t like conflict and you don’t know how to use your muscles, then why would I want you on my side?" Aaron wondered aloud, meaning no offense with his words. "Are you some kind of genius or do you have a bunch of connections or something?" Peeking open one of his eyes, Aaron tried to get a better understanding of Talen. The guy wasn’t so predictable, but for some reason Aaron had believed him when he said that he was one of the best to have on your side.

"I don't like it but I know how to deal with it." Talen said, shrugging slightly. Glancing over at him, he nodded. "I'm street and school smart but not a complete genius. But connections are more my forte, I've been here three times." He knew his way around here, he knew who's toes to not step on and who's to stomp on. Talen also had his outside connections, someone that could get him what he wanted. 

"Well he’s not the person… I mean we’re not um… you know or anything.” She felt her cheeks get a bit warm before she rubbed the back of her neck, realizing that it was far from the time for one of those conversations. “Well that’s a bit more than unsettling.” She swallowed, running her hand through her hair. She drummed on her lap a little in an attempt to process everything before she managed to down the last of the vodka in her hand. “Ya know… that might be a good idea…”

"What you do behind closed doors in none of my business." Talen said bluntly. He had just met her, he really had no intentions yet of knowing her life like the palm of his hand but he would obviously step in if she had any problems here. "That's the mob life for you, it's a life for a life." That's how it always was, no matter what was going on; someone was always dying in order for someone else to live. "You can tell Aaron, seeing he's my roommate but no one else. There's only one person I'll need to tell since she's been here with me but other than that, it would be another thing for someone in this place to find out that doesn't need to know."

"Ah, the little blonde you help hide hide a body with?" 

"Would you rather have it hidden in a closet?"

" It’s the truth. If it boosts your ego that’s just extra. I think you’re already fulfilling those wishes I have forming in my head. I don’t want to be able to walk, my knees would be so weak. I want to put this to the test. I’m not doubting your stamina, I just want to see it in action first hand. " Sophia replied before sighing against his lips " I’ll hold you to that." She slid her own hands down as she felt Talen’s move against her body. She felt around for the hem of his shirt and started to pull it up. 

"If you say so, you'll just have to deal with me when my ego's the size of Russia. Oh am I? That's good to hear. I don't want to break you or put you in a wheel chair, Soph. You asked for first hand, you're gonna get it." Letting his lips trail from her lips to her neck, his tongue trailed down lightly until he sucked gently at the nape of her neck nape. His hand moved higher up her shirt as his fingers dragged gently against her skin.
