It was gonna be a thing of Miriam being like "I am so fucking sick of them" while Bazz and Jugram are arguing before telling them quite loudly to get a room. They look at her, mortied, before she follows up with "I said what I said".

I think people overhype the Zanpakuto rebellion arc.

Whenever people talk about filler arcs in Bleach, they always say the zanpakuto rebellion arc is amazing and worth watching. I hadn't watched it in over a decade (fun fact, I watched it on my PS Vita when I was like 8-9), so I was excited to finally rewatch it... and I was genuinely a bit disappointed.

I think people like the concept of the zanpakuto arc so much that it makes them believe/remember the actual arc itself is so much better than it actually was. It had a lot of potential, it's just too underbaked, and too fast. There wasn't enough time for the story.

And I say this because people almost always put it above the reigai arc. I say almost because I am like the one person who doesn't. The reigai arc is basically never included in the conversation about "good bleach filler arcs" it's ALWAYS just the zanpakuto arc... so I'm hoping the reigai arc is as good as I remember it to be.

Idk,, I just don't think the actual arc itself is that good. The concept is fucking fantastic, and the fact it's not as good as I'd hoped makes me yearn for more. It makes me want a more fleshed out story, with it having more time to cook. So when I say "the arc itself isn't that good" I am purely and only talking about the story of the arc. The concept is amazing.

I cannot get this goddamn video out of my head. So I have ideas for a video of it. I don't know if this will ever come to fruition, but I need others to see the vision here.

Quilge, Jerome, Driscoll, Berenice, and Loyd/Royd were taken out because they were dead when Uryu joined. Pernida probably wouldn’t care so they're not in the main lineup. Gwenael is a creation of Gremmy, so he's not been included either.

In the navy - Uryu kneeled in front of Yhwach

This may be a lil out of character for him,,, but Uryu is also a kid. He's a kid who's been through a lot. Askin also does NOT care for Uryu, and was only appointed to be part of the royal guard after the Auschwallen.

Also switched around Gigi and Lille for the "[they want] you as a new recruit" line. Lined it up perfctly with Gerard, and decided it would work well as well for Lille to be the final one.

I'm not using exact matches, but I'm using what matches the closest with the art used

Like,, the original series had its flops. But so much of this art is gorgeous. And I'm not gonna acively add the ones that didn't work because there' not really much point when it's outweighed (plus it was very often included WITH the good art, and often tended to be the main cover. Not the "parts"/dvd cover art)

My EX perpetual calendar arrived today, and it inspired me to do versions using my own OCS. I still have to do one with Val, but I was really struggling to come up with her pose without straight up copying Grimmjow's.

Their dates are all on their birth days;

Sakura Yamazaki: April 17th

Kaito Takahashi: July 17th

Ume Takahashi: January 6th (4 years old)

Ryu Takazuki: December 26th

Miriam Blumenthal: June 12th

Benjiro Blumenthal-Black: March 14th (12 years old)

Val's is February 22nd.

Because I'm evil, I decided to make Kaito's hair try and resemble Captain Aizen's in some way (also normal Aizen with the stray hair strand).

Still haven't settled on any for these three. Miriam is causing me so many problems. Had her for so long that nothing sounds right.

1) Studio Pierrot seems to love her (nothing necessarily wrong with that) because she is in sooo much filler content with so much focus. The most out of any character not part of the pre-established cast I believe, especially one who hadn’t even personally interacted with Ichigo (they technically meet for the first time in the second fucking movie)

And 2) she’s mischaracterised. So badly, unfortunately too often (at least in early bleach). She is done so dirty.

It makes sense. A character has to remain static in filler, but they actively make her weaker, and make her stupid.

I understand why she is used so much, because she is the stealth force commander. But that’s exactly the problem.

She is the commander of the assassination, and intelligence units. She is incredibly fast, incredibly powerful. Rukia would not be able to clash swords with Soi Fon, Rukia would be out cold on the floor before she even knew what had happened. I do not think Soi Fon would have struggled like that in the Bount arc. But also, she would’ve been able to immediately tell something was going wrong with the family in the second filler. She would’ve sniffed out the assassination attempts and the guy wanting to take charge so fucking fast.

Just because she is impulsive and quick to anger doesn’t mean she lacks observational skills and intelligence.

Bbg getting an upgrade of the lifetime. Like Miriam, she’s not finished but she’s up-to-date at least!

Also drew this the other day. Her colours were updated in her resurreccion design (which I finally got down after a year!) but rewatching Bleach has really made me realise my characters are too pale. I’ve been worrying for a while about the skin tone of my light-skinned characters because I’ve been a little concerned there’s not enough variation between them, but rewatching bleach really confirmed for me that I do need to adjust their colours.
