Silmarillion art promts!

I’m doing to portrait practice today. I’m in a Silmarillion mood but I’m having decision-making difficulties. Send me [1] character and I’ll try to draw a portrait of them. I’m very biased towards the female characters, but I’ll take any promts. Have in mind I’m specifically doing portraits, so no action prompts, just a character.

Old portrait of Nerdanel that I’m still very fond of! I have plans to redraw all my old designs and portraits, but I need some warmup first.

I’m in the process of redesigning Idril by finding a new face reference for her, but I still liked these sketches.

In this version of Elenwë I gave her blue eyes, but I got to say I’m more into the green eyes, and dressing her in green instead, so that Idril favouring green and wear the Elessar can be seen as a tribute to her. I always give Idril grey eyes, gotta get something from her dad. I’ve seen eyes with a pretty grey-green blend thought so I might try that too.

Send me prompts I say, and then disappear for almost a month! Work hit me like a wrecking ball, and I'm still working to finish my WIP on Elenwë (restarted twice). But here's an old portrait of Aredhel I don't think I ever posted since it's technically a cropped WIP.

Hi! Can I ask what program and what brushes you use to paint? I really like the way it looks, for example in the picture of you and your sister. You are very talented!

Thank you! I use Procreate on iPad with an Apple Pencil. I can’t really pinpoint all brushes I use, but mostly I use this brush set from Kadiri. It’s free and I’ve used it for years!

The good old process.

I kinda dropped drawing for two years, only doing the occasional drawing. This was my first full render in quite some time. Just an old photo of me and my sister given new life.

It’s been a weird time. I’ve gotten far in my career but not really anything else. The amount of work sucked all inspiration out of me and I haven’t been able to maintain interests and relationships. It was a relief to pick up the stylus and realise I still remember how to draw.
