I wish I could get rid of my overwhelming love, my passions -the passions that tear you bad enough you can literally feel your heart break- because all it brings me is heartache.

When you love something and always have from as far back as can be remembered, to be ever-separated from it is pure torture. The love that propels you, that gives your heart comfort. The bond. The understanding. The total peace with your soul. It's never attained, never reached.

And the depression that grows in its absence... is crippling.

This bond, the love you have for this, is something internal and no one can comprehend the reason why you love it so much. They say, just let it go. And by God, how you've tried. How many times have you tried to do just that. You've done everything to ignore it, uttering to your internal monologue that you will never have it. The time in your life for it is over and you must move on. Only to stumble into it by complete accident mentally, emotionally, without thinking about where the innocent thoughts are going, which turn into pleasant memories of the past... which distort into the familiar torture your heart endures and that you've come to embrace.

And you are then slowly crushed into millions of pieces with the weight of how intensely your misguided heart longs for it, even just to touch it. To smell it. To sit in its presence. Just the thought of it kills you to the point that you willingly wish it away. You cannot look at it because it destroys you every single time. You refuse to let it in, shunning the concept as a whole away from the inner corners of your mind. It cannot be allowed to take up residence, to settle in as it once had those many years ago because no matter how much you love it, you cannot have it -it's beyond your means in all ways- and the loss of it even now is agony. Anguish. So you do what you can. You live with the pain. You shove away the intrusive memories, the ones that tear at your heartstrings that have tied you to your passions, bit by bit chipping away at who you are with each beat. You deal with the scars that love left but know they will never fully heal as long as you draw breath. With the love for anything comes grief, and the amount of grief is just as powerful as the object of your heart's desire.
