because those things are sort like? yes, white feminism is fucking shitty, but at the same time, i see a shitton of white allies, christian allies, skinny girls, actual allies from non-oppressed groups saying shit and reblogging things for their non-white, non-christian, non-cishet followers.

guilt based rhetoric doesn't work. my boss calls what i do "manipulating people into learning." guilt only works on adults with things they already have sentimental attachment to. we have to find other forms of manipulation and different language to express our frustration that we don't see allies being allies.

i got this last week and i forgot to reply to it and the moral of the story is sorry i'm trash. half the reason i didn't reply was beacuse i was at work and the other half is because i'm a butt. :P

but don't go around stepping on people! there is a thrill in educating someone--in having them come back to you and say "hey look, i learned this because of something you said before or did before, and i think i'm better for it." it's literally the greatest feeling on the planet, enlightening someone.

but that thrill is in influence, in power--and it's the same thrill that our oppressors have (and often don't recognize) that creates the oppressive state.
