I got into grad school! That program has ~20% acceptance rate and I DID NOT expect to get in! My plan is to study how to make better physical therapy and rehabilitation equipment. I wanted to do engineering that will make a concrete impact on quality of life, and my senior year I stumbled on rehab robotics for stroke patients. A big contributor to depression for patients is losing the freedom to self-propel in their own home, and if I can help give back even some of that mobility? Fuck yes!
My jaw literally dropped for HOW FUCKING AMAZING YOU ARE and what you’re planning to do, HOLY SHIT. Like, this is... you realize you’re going to save lives with what you’re doing, right? You’re going to CHANGE lives, this is the kind of revolutionary thinking that will make a difference for hundreds and thousands and maybe one day millions of people. I care for my dad who has very limited mobility these days, and getting him out and about makes a world of difference for him -- I can’t imagine what kind of impact you’re going to have on the world with what you’re planning to do. Seriously -- thank you for wanting to do this, for working so hard to do this, for being the best you can be so that you can make our world a better place
