ZocDoc allows you to search for doctors in a specific geographical area. You can look up literally any kind of doctor there is. Primary Care Provider, Oncologist, Urologist, Optometrist, Dermatologist, etc.
But it gets even better. Just for the sake of this post, I typed in Spina Bifida and all of a sudden, I have a list to every single doctor in New York City who specializes in treating patients with Spina Bifida. Then I put in ‘kidney stones’ for Freudian Slip reasons and it showed me every single doctor who could help someone with kidney stones.
You can then narrow it down to the doctors who accept your insurance (or the doctors who accept out-of-pocket payments). You can narrow down the exact neighborhood, the gender, whether they see children, etc.
But here’s the best part---you can see reviews of said doctor, all stacked right there, conveniently letting you compare and contrast.
And when you finally find the perfect doctor with the perfect reviews who specializes in exactly what you need, you can book the appointment right on the website! You can even ‘check in’ right on the website, putting in your insurance information, your medical history, etc.
I know tumblr is pretty anti-doctor but honestly, I feel like if people started using this website to find actual reputable high-ranked doctors who specialize in their issues, maybe they can actually get treatment.
