back when timo meier got suspended for sticking zach l'heureux directly in the teeth everyone was so up in arms about "HE'S A ROOKIE YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO A ROOKIE" and i had to keep matter-of-factly pointing out that yes he may be a rookie but he is also a fucking rat menace. young sir rat. looks up to brad marchand and matthew tkachuk, canonically. thinks corey perry is "so cool", i bet. collects esa tikkanen hockey cards, probably. got suspended in the Q for assaulting a fan, for real. like. if any rookie deserves a stick to the teeth. (i say this with the UTMOST affection you must understand. i want to put him in a plastic cup like a bug and rattle it around.) for those of you who don't get it look him up. asshole (highly affectionate). known blood donor (also canonical). didn't go play college hockey because he hated the fucking full cage (also canonical). mustard boy (again also canonical). if he were on a team that was, i don't wanna say relevant but like, tumblr relevant, i think people would fall over themselves for him. what a weirdo 💖💖💖

Oh beautiful beautiful lore and also headcanons lol thank you very much for this ask I didn’t know half of this!!! Yeah Happy absolutely doesn’t deserve any rookie pity when he also got suspended for killing somebody this year and had been suspended 11 times prior in the Q and the A lol. I admit, I do have mixed feelings about him, since I don’t like violent and/or dirty players and he obviously toes the line between physical and violent, but I give him leeway since he still has time to mature and hopefully get a bit more responsible. For now though until he does something really underhanded he is still asshole (affectionate) <3 He is sooooo shakeable a plastic cup is good I feel like a cocktail shaker would work well also he needs to get knocked around a bit 🙂↕️
