♟: Patching up a wound
THE SCENT OF FRESH BLOOD lingers in the air and despite her not wanting to see anything along the lines of that; she has to. it’s concerning and she doesn’t know the entire story to why this particular male is wounded but she has to endear her own fear of blood in order to help. naeun seen a lot worse, helped a stranger out but this was someone who she’s known recently. the similarities were far off from that time and present day.
“i can clean it for you, it must hurt.” she acknowledged, stating the fact out loud. she doesn’t mean to nudge herself into his issue but she would feel bad if she stands there when he’s in pain.
he clears his throat, unsure of what to say. to him, she looked like she’s scene a murder scene. when it isn’t close to that, accident happened and now he’s running lukewarm. “i got it really, i do. don’t mind it.” he informs sternly to the shorter female who’s nearby the door frame. glancing at the corner of his eyes, her body stiffens up. uncertain of what to say to him at this point.Â
she didn’t listen, she practically helped him despite the reassuring statements.
“icky.” is the word she mumbles softly in the process of trying to clean the wound first. mentally of a child is shown by the way she described and the male stares blankly, trying to make sure he heard correctly as his head was turning to the opposite direction. coughing in order to hide any laughter that wanted to slip because his reaction when receiving the fairly large cut on the hand.Â
a low hiss underneath the breath causes naeun to stop immediately from what she was doing. biting down on her lower lip nervously before a smile was shown so weakly. “does it hurt?” she needed to ask and despite the slight stinging pain against his skin, from rubbing alcohol and the light dabs of the dampen cotton balls. noah knows this isn’t the world, despite his palm twitching from the burn or how his feet taps repeatedly on the ground. breathing in so he wouldn’t startle the smaller female with such noises. Â
his head shakes a few seconds after the inquiry spilling out of her smaller lips, wanting to make sure she’s doing things correctly. gracefully despite how slow the pace was. and the numerous apologies that emits out of her lips despite it not being her fault. he has a tendency of being careless with his actions. times like these when it becomes too quiet ( with company or he’s alone ) he’s probably deep in his own thought.Â
“what happened?” Â
“the usual.”Â
her mother always told her to avoid as many men she can in her life until she’s grown. thought she was informed that those who carried bad habits and their reckless behavior; those were the type of people who were bound to hurt her. naeun doesn’t listen because she look into the negativity all that much. besides noah treats her fairly well, despite slight intimidation that wavers his existence but that’s how she was around everyone who wasn’t a relative.Â
her hand rests on the lower half of his own and with his own curious eyes he managed to take note of the difference of how small she was as a whole. bandages, the shade of white curls repeatedly around his hand. making sure it’s a secure grasp so nothing seeps through and reaches into the injury. “be careful next time.” noah knows that seems impossible, with the lifestyle he has for himself. being cautious is the last thing on his mind when he acts the way he does. though he feels guilty, how he picked her of all people to help him with a cut he could have cleaned himself.Â
“i’ll try.” he breathes out, leaning back on the couch when she was finally done. relieved and when she’s still placed on the spot besides him. trying to gather the belongings to place them away neatly into the cabinets once again, he reached over with his other hand to pat the top of her head. a sign of gratitude, “thank you.”Â
her posture straightens from the sudden touch, blinking as she looks up. checking if this what the palm that she just finished patching up. “ah, careful - oh.” when she pulls back a bit to notice that it was the other hand, she felt the blush dust over her cheeks in embarrassment. laughing it off when his chuckle seeps out ( most likely from the reaction she gave at her tiny mistake ) the corners of her lips display pearly whites beautifully at him. “you’re welcome.”
