Idk Monster Boy has some sharp claws, but he's probably more prone to eat birds than rats?? Maybe he only eats rats when he's desperate.　

He was supposed to rip up the cat and eat it, but instead he became friends with it. It was not a result the wizard expected. (I personally think it was a better outcome though!)
