#zig brushables

I own 13/24 of the pens - I bought each pen for about 1.1 pounds (1.4 USD), which is the cheapest I’ve found. still a bit pricy so I only bought the colours I thought I’d use most.

the pen

they come dual-tipped, one brush on each side - one with 100% pigment and the other with 50% pigment of the same colour. they are like different tones of the same colour basically. with the lighter colours like powder blue it does get a bit hard to distinguish the colours though.

the body is absolutely beautiful, it’s a creamy colour that is so pretty. my favourite brush pen design by far. the body is quite long, for reference about 2cm longer than a mildliner brush and 2cm shorter than a tombow.

colours

I love the colours so much, right up there with my mildliner colours. gorgeous colours.

I love how each pen has 2 tips, it’s so helpful to my colour matching game. I would say some of the lighter colours don’t show up that well, especially the yellows, but you can definitely outline the letters so i don’t think of it as too much of a problem.

some of the colours are very bright, some aren’t ultra bright so you can pick whichever colours you prefer. when you write, the ink is very pigmented so the colour is vibrant, but dries quickly which is great.

if you’re familiar with the mildliner brush, i would say the size and texture is nearly identical. they’re both a bit on the firm side so easier to control for beginners.

if you use it on rough paper too much, the tip will fray!! one of my brushables has frayed so much because of this ;(

strokes

as you can see in the photos, the upstrokes aren’t ultra ultra thin but as long as they aren’t frayed there’s still a big difference between down and up strokes. there is a slight bounce when you write, so the pen helps to make thin upstrokes in my opinion.
