Nekyu

What are some of your character’s more notable merits and flaws (including physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etc.)? How did they develop? How has this helped or hindered them in the past?

Shit this will be long and hard. :v.

Merits... Okay.... Physically you saw earlier he is just a strong ass monster. Mental... His strengths in this field are pretty small. You could say his lack of attachment to others is a strong point, because he won’t hold himself back for anyone. If he wants something, he will go forth to achieve it as swiftly as possible. He will push and strive through everything to stay alive. When he really wants to (which he generally doesn’t care to much on tumblrverse) he’s able to put up a good facade. His facade is very persuasive, suave, seductive, manipulative, but can also appear sweet and caring too.  If you’re asking for like a /merit/ Hm... In most people’s eyes especially on tumblr  he’s seen as a monster, and he is. But in his past during Lucid Dream a lot of people (fomorians and generally creatures, anything not tuatha or milletian) really looked up to Nekyu? His ideals are very simple and straight to him, but a lot of people interpret them into something more. His moral and goals in the world is to kill everything bad. To him EVERYONE is bad. Even the people who look up to him. Essentially he wants to destroy the world and restart it to be something good. Which is generally not far off what fomors generally wanted right? Cichol wanted things to start over and fair, but he was kind of a pussy and didn’t want the fomors to die too in the process. Nekyu wants EVERYONE to die. So to a lot of these races that have been looked down upon, treated horribly, in war with tuatha in the past, even the ones who came to stop and be with tuatha but were treated with rough racism, they look and see Nekyu. Nekyu a halfling, a strong and powerful man, who’s goal is restart the world into something beautiful and fair. And while he works to eradicate the most wicked (the tuatha and especially milletians) those who help him will get strength and be treated fair and greatly, until the day they are done and must be destroyed too. Either way he gives them the decision that they’re going to die here and now or later in the future after they’ve had lots of riches, power, and fame.

  Nekyu’s flaws... oh holla. Lets start with physical.

He has heightened senses for all. Especially for hearing. It’s really very good, but also causes him to be oversensitive. Loud noises can hurt him. He’s extremely vulnerable to music, mostly lullabies. Because of his past experience with Zhyhal, music will soothe him, and put him to sleep quickly. (He can generally listen to a lot of music, but lullabies or blues will quickly just make him fall over and sleep no matter what state he’s in. He could be a raging monster and someone could just start singing sweetly and in a matter of a few minutes he’d fall over).  

He’s in a constant state of exhausting hunger. Without food for vast periods of time he  can mentally decline, it can be easy to trick and lure him with temptations of “food”. This er still generally kind of applies decently too even when he’s had food recently. His hunger leaves him in constant pain.  The lure of a strong meal and he’s almost willing to fall into anything. In general that hunger leaves him in constant pain too really... He does well to hide it, he's quite used to it, but if anyone else could feel his pain it would feel like their stomach was being ripped open and pulled out of them. So less and less food... just causes more and more pain. It leaves him more unfocused. The weaker he is the hungrier he is, it leads him to do more insane things, which is why in tumblrverse he's so ridiculous. In tumblrverse he's been starved out for a while and is trying to regain his strength. Every time he gets good meals so far he's ended up just blowing all his power onto something else leading him to be hungry again.

He isn’t able to gain much weight. He’s skin and muscle. Very skinny. His body is too skinny and tall from this and so he has a bad breathing system. Too much work and he’ll have to stop for a bit to breath. With the right kind of hit or movements his lungs will sometimes collapse on themselves. At that point he’ll definitely have to stop no matter what to breath spastically.

While fighting his thoughts are... often lowered, he’ll have a hard time with multi tasking per say. It’s pure fighting, or talking kind of? Too much talking and he can get himself hurt. So his talking is limited to maybe like 3 sentences every few actions. He’ll keep it pretty minimal and the more he gets into the fight the less he’ll talk. He relies on his instincts so his thoughts are more simple and more emotional. It’s easy to distract him with smart conversations, and it’s easy to sway his emotions while fighting, the angrier he gets the less he can even think straight. He can become almost like an animal when fighting. Unnoticing of his surroundings in that case and his own being.

He’s extremely weak to fire magics. Burns will drive him insane, and he can’t handle it. He’s very fearful of it from his past. A milletian named Theion burned him horribly as a child. Lightning will hurt him generally too, but is less effective. He can hide his pain more with that. With fire he can not hide his pain at all. He can’t really heal the scars from fire or lightning, unless his skin is just pretty much ripped off.

Long range in general is rougher on him, he’s stubborn and often wants to use close combat. He’ll try to use blood magick to control people from long distance, but he needs a loooooot of power for that, or a lot of sacrificed blood. (blood splattered outside people’s bodies, or even ripping at himself and using his own blood. The most he has for long range is ice/blood. He almost never uses his ice so it would be more likely to see him use blood on the ground, or cut himself and freeze it into spikes to launch at people). Even if he can manage to /control someone farther away it’s more difficult and they can fight back against it easily. It’s only really up close, or with very weak minds that he can control people’s bodies. If they arent expecting it he can usually do something quick like lift them up by their blood and toss them. But other than that it’s not too much. Anyways, he’s very stubborn and wont really want to use much of that range or such to get to long range users of magic/guns/archery. They’re not as effective as fire, but they will definitely do the job. Not to mention like earlier said, he can easily lose his focus and have an ever harder time with long rangers.

Because of his emotional irregularities in battle, he can be extremely chaotic even to himself. To the point of hurting himself, breaking his own bones, ripping his limbs off, etc, for some twisted sense of fun or out of frustration.

There are some extra weak points that can be taken advantage of such as his horns. When broken it causes extreme pain. His spine is long and thick, if hit it causes him extreme pain too.

For a lot of his magicks they require a lot of things to be used... His mind manipulation needs a open mind, or a very weak mind, or he can’t do anymore to someone than show them a different image of himself at the very most.  (if they’re pretty weak he can do a lot to fuck with them, show them their horrors, flip their vision around, etc) To use the light fractals/illusions he needs a decent amount of light. Moonlight can work but will be less effective, daytime is ideal for this. In pure darkness he can not use that magick.

For his shadow/arcanes he has to have well shadows or darkness around. So a place with lots of trees/people etc things that leave lots of shadows is ideal. Night time is very good for that, so he can deal more damage for that type of magic at night.

His generally only flaws with his close combat is that it’s not super defensive. And that he just needs to be up close to them. Other than that.... it’s very offensive. It focus’ on pressure points and joint breaking. Trying to inflict the most pain as possible. To break people’s bones, organs, etc.

I didn't mention before, because I also just kinda decided on this recently. His tail does actually have different various /poisons/ in it. It's not exactly 100% natural to him even though he does produce it and stuff it's like a power he gained through a spirit(s). So it's still kind of foreign. He has an aphrodisiac, a slow acting poison, a sense enhancer, a sense duller/numbing/neutralizer (depending on how much he injects into you), and just a pure straight pain shot. Generally it doesn't really effect him, unless he stabs himself. If he overuses his poisons and has to just keep producing more, it will seep into his system. (of whichever kind if he's overusing aphrodisiac he's going to get horny if hes overusing poison he's going to poison himself etc). It will also heavily effect him if he switches the type quickly. Normally if he's switching the type it takes a decent amount of time, a few hours or so, but if he rushes it, it will definitely affect him.

OKAY MENTAL FLAWS WAHOO. He’s driven often by his hunger. Because of that constant state of hunger he drives his goals to end it through anything. Eating powerful things, uncaring of the actions he does to himself or others. He’s unable to feel remorse and understanding for the most part. He’s kind of bipolar on this tbh because if he see’s really horrible actions from others (raping, murdering, etc) he will have a sort of instinct to go stop it. It’s not really out of sadness or anything, but it’s something in his head where he’s experienced that and doesn’t want to see others doing it, even though he himself will do it. It won’t connect in his mind if he does it. He understand he’s doing something wrong and bad, but he doesn’t feel any remorse for his own actions.  He understand how he’s supposed to act, but it’s a second thought and the opposite of what he’d generally do. Sometimes he will do what he understands is supposed to be good, but there are a lot of times where he lets his own nature take course. Everything Nekyu does is for his own gain, he will destroy everything else in his way to achieve that. Even if he “cares” about someone it’s usually in a more posessive way rather than “loving. That doesnt mean it’s a completely impossible concept, there are one or two exceptions to this. He understands what love and happiness is in concept, but for the most part he generally can not feel this. He can only keep up some sort of facade of this. Mostly using his body to show “love” and empty smiles. The average range of his emotions is from neutral to angry, almost never feeling happy. “Happiness” is satisfaction in kills, and torture, whether mental or physical. He enjoys “playing” with people. He is easy to upset. He FOREVER has a deep hatred for all races and entirety of this world in general. He’s very cynical and rebelious in that way, trying to defy the world. He feels like everyone has cheated him of the happiness he could have had. It is EVERYONE’S fault. So he is proud to be a monster, and acts very pompous in that way. His thoughts of himself as a monster is... hard to describe and understand. In his start he strived to not be a monster, to be something better than what everyone told him he was, but he was thrown down from the chance. With power he decided to go against others, to be the monster that everyone called him, but even worse than that. It’s a deep confliction from childhood that’s mostly forgotten and not thought of, he wants ever so far in the back of his head to be normal, to be simple, happy, opposite of wanting to be enemy to all. It’s really far in the back of his mind so sometimes if you catch him far enough into a conversation... you’ll see it. And it changes his decisions. It’s in some deep dark place within that he wishes he could be loved, truely, through everything. It’s hard to break the mask of emotions off Nekyu and show that part of him from the inside. There are some things that cause him to go into states of regression. Seeing those that remind him of himself causes him to feel confliction, seeing people who had hurt him in the past emotionally cause him to go into panic attacks. Regressions to childhood stages of fear, anger, uncertainty, and abandonment. With Zhyhal he goes into deep regressions of abandonment, anger, lots of fear, and some ideas of “love” and maybe even that is somewhat genuine.  Emotions that mix and clash where has not felt much or “thought” much in long periods of time between relapses. When he’s thrown into these relapses or stages of anger, he generally stops “thinking” and only “feels” for these feelings  of emotions. From certain events  emotions will rush through him and pierce through his soul driving him mad, or stages of anger he just feels so much anger, every bit of hate and anger that he bottles up for the world comes up and out into chaos. He’ll even go so far to go to do physical actions like crashing through objects. He doesn’t think at all of what he does to others, to himself, or what others will do to him (physical pain) and such.

His whole mental state is pretty fragile and hard to understand.

  He’s developed all like this because of his childhood. From when he was born he was treated rudely with a lot of racism. Called an enemy; a monster. He was treated really badly. And the first time he ever felt like someone cared about him really destroyed him mentally.(and physically really)  It really messed him up inside and was turning him into a sociopath. Like I said earlier he feels like he’s been cheated of his happiness. There’s another point later with Zhyhal that he feels genuinely happy for a little while again, but is abandoned, and that's the point where he decides to break all his ties and he just full on turns into a sociopath. He just really hates everyone...

  His drive  and hunger for power led Nekyu to create himself into something really powerful and great.

His relapses of feelings for Zhyhal led to his downfall in the past. He let Zhyhal back in... one more time... he didn’t want him to leave... and it lead to a sneak attack to destroy him really. Everything he had crumbled that day.

Alil Conaill

What are some of your character’s more notable merits and flaws (including physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etc.)? How did they develop? How has this helped or hindered them in the past?

This should be quicker. Alil is a little hard too though. He’s mostly a very good person at heart... mostly. But no one’s perfect.

He’s a skilled cook, and generally very good so far at medical things. He’s... very weak but strong emotionally? He’s very strong to have Nekyu around. Nekyu’s horrifying and does cruel and terrible things, and he’s very strong to be there by Nekyu’s side.  But he’s very weak... he’s really submissive for the most part... In a social environment he’s prone to peer pressure and will let people do a lot to him.  He feels very inferior to most people, and he’s always felt very lonely. Most people have been very mean to him his whole life. He gets bullied a lot for his sweet shy nature. It’s from that he sees Nekyu as horrible but... also very good. Because even though Nekyu doesn’t want to in the end he’s still there protecting and taking care of Alil.

He’s also kind of strong mentally where... as much as he gets pushed around and this and that if he has a goal he will do anything for it. Like his goal is to be a doctor in the future, so he makes a lot of moral sacrifice for that? Since Nekyu does a lot of killing and shit anyways, he uses the dead/live bodies for practice. He allows Nekyu to do a lot of his shit so they can have money so he can go to school.

He’s kind of gotten this way because of his childhood. Really weak and pathetic because he was abandoned, orphaned, bullied, malnourished. But having a strong sense of what he wants because he really just has a strong strong drive to live.

His morals and mental side is... actually really slowly shifting though. It’s because of Nekyu. As much as he wants to stay like a strong north of just moral goodness... his morals are slowly going down and down the more years he spends with Nekyu. And Nekyu is increasingly becoming more important to him. As much as Nekyu is very quiet/mysterious/mean he’s still the only person there for Alil so... he is.. important to him. And if anything were to happen to him...

Zhyhal

What are some of your character’s more notable merits and flaws (including physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etc.)? How did they develop? How has this helped or hindered them in the past?

Zhyhal has a giant hero complex. He really insanely has always wanted to be the hero in the story books. He worked hard to become a generally strong milletian, a general in a army. His moral compass is very strong North. He tries to do everything for the good of the world. In the end this leads him to be over expecting of people. He has too much hope. Hope that people can change, that people can be good. His hope for Nekyu that he could leave and Nekyu could still turn back to something good, instead of just killing him when he was young... lead to Nekyu destroying so much. His hope lead to more death than he ever imagined.

Nekyu

Where does your character live? Why did they choose it, and how did they acquire it? How do they handle intruders (graciously? violently?)? Describe the space.

Nekyu in Numinous Dream lives currently in a really big... home/shop?  It’s in uhhh not at the center, but around the outside of Dunbarton? So somewhat suburban area.

Nekyu generally hates Dunbarton, but it’s where Alil wants to live. Alil has lived around Dunbarton his whole life and it’s hard to leave for him, and the university he really wants to go to is in Dunbarton.

After a lot of hard work with his contacts from earlier coughs he got a loooooot of money and saved up to have this space specially designed.

Intruders? Nekyu would take it depending on how the intruder’s personalities are. He would probably be pretty violent and vicious, but try to play around with it. It’s HIS property so he will not stand for people coming in without invitation.

The front half of the building is a meat shop/restaurant. It’s very fancy and modern.  There’s a basement that’s also just chopped in half for a front side shop, all the meats, and the backside which is cages and torture supplies. The back side of the place (this place is huge okay) is like... really nice modern home. Really sleek looking lots of black/white/maroon. Whatever is the best he’s got it pretty much. It’s a bit further in the future than it is right now in normal modern times so there’s a bit more tech, like glass screen things on the tables and stuff. There’s a large living room space, fireplace, nice clean sleek kitchen. Glass stairs that lead up to two rooms with their own bathrooms. They’re both generally clean and slick. Nekyu has a big walk in closet with lots of nice clothes and essentially satanic books everywhere. Hes got more torture supplies in the closet too. Pretty much his home is just super nice and expensive from his income of killing people and his start into the front store business gets him more money too. Yahoooo.

  But he also as a home in AU CANON for Tumblrverse. When he travels between the timelines to interact with the other blogs essentially he has a home. It’s set far in the forest in/around Coill. So think of Coill Abyss forest environment. He has a much smaller home he built. It’s really pretty okay. There’s lots of flowers and stuff around the area and growing up and on top of the home. How he got in the area is well, it’s not really that hard to convince imps/their queen  to allow him there when Nekyu is not a tuatha and legit does have a very high respect for forests and nature. Intruders, and even visitors are unexpected and definitely not welcome at all. Anyone he would find on the property here would be dealt with very viciously. It’s mostly because he leaves generally a lot of warning to keep away from the home. There’s a giant ring around the home of frozen blood spikes. They’re like super spiked rose bush designed just death traps it’s just like ridiculous flower spikes LOL.

Alil lives with Nekyu. He chose the general area because he didn’t want to leave Dunby since like mentioned earlier yeah he just really likes Dunbarton (doesn’t honestly know the rest of the world and is scared to leave) and wants to go to the University there.

Why do they have their resources? How long have they had them, and how have they served the character over time? (Ex. Contacts, money, political power, fame, etc.)

His contacts in Lucid Dream come generally.... Eh.... He stumbles across the first one. With a general knowledge of the unknown, he get’s a pack of ancients. He goes to release more essentially and slowly kind gets stronger and works up within their ranks. While he’s helping them he comes across some other important characters. Since he can not kill them, he asks them to join his side. Later as he does get stronger and becomes generally like top dog, he goes around to pretty much gather more alliances. Through fear or admiration. Idk in Lucid Dream every contact and thing is all about a power control @_@. He has to work very hard to get strong. To scare everyone else.

In Numinous Dream Nekyu... generally works a lot... asgadfh I didn’t say earlier but he generally got his mafia contacts through like two things. He did work lots of laborish jobs, but since he’s an incubus he also got stripper jobs pfgohagshdf LOL. So through being kind of easy to find and kind of accidentally killing a lot of hit targets (since he’d just kind of prey on anyone he took interest in) his contacts take interest in him.  He eventually goes to work under them and it’s that whole deal like before working his way up through jobs and trust. He meets a lot of other contacts through them, meeting lots of other groups. And even other people who realize exactly who he is (from Lucid Dream, everything about him is generally erased from history) and yahoo more contacts. He generally uses his large connection of contacts to just slowly work together plans... working for a lot of baaaad things like slave trading/drug dealing/terrorist things, he gets a lot of money. With help he works to destroy his history on this timeline and create a whole great background etc to lead to his political career /o/.

His only resource really is Nekyu, but through Nekyu he can essentially get most of what he needs or wants. He generally doesn’t want much... He doesn’t know Nekyu’s goals or a lot of his work. He tries to keep himself in the dark. What he doesn’t see doesn’t hurt him.

Nekyu

Where did they learn their abilities? Oh god this might be long ‘__’ and I might have to think of some of it on spot.

Nekyu starts and first gets powers very early in his childhood. He wanders into the forest in search for food and finds the god Cernunnos instead. TL;DR he straight up asks for power and he gets it. The power to get more power pretty much. The two downfalls of this is just the constant hunger for it (quite literally) and a general loss of humanity ‘__’ so it just kind of leads him to slowly become more like a monster than a person. He constantly is shifting between really monstrous and unable to even really speak or very “human”.

He’s sent later to his father in the castle dungeons. Where he spends a lot of time studying ice magics. However he’s unable to use them. He’s weaker than incubi since he’s a cambion. With only half blood, and being with his mother for so long, plus just things like malnourishment, etc he’s just too weak to even form any ice , no matter how hard he studies. He gets really upset because he asked for power and /got/ it, but he didn’t understand what was different aside that he was always really hungry and in pain. Eventually he figured out to try and eat a person. He meant to suck their soul but the taste of blood mmm so both. (this was from another younger cambion child, though because this one was raised in good conditions it was better off soooo) After eating the kid he’s able to use allllll of his studying to actual use. He can use ice magics from there, and he has the general concept of everything all down in his head since he spent a year or two just hardcore studying all the books he could. So from there on he’s pretty decent at ice and just gets better and better.

During that same time he was studying ice magics, his father was teaching him a bit of concept on illusionary/manipulation magicks. The illusion of different faces and forms. Influencing people’s thoughts and decisions. (which he practices a lot after he leaves his father) . And the concept of going into people’s dreams and mindscapes. (since incubus stuff).

Time skips a lot from here out ‘__’. He learns blood magick stuff from a really really sketchy cultist group. They kind of.. kidnap him.. from his... kidnappers? w/e he deserved it but. Yeah so they try to use Nekyu because he has a lot of potential, and he could be a good weapon to use. And Nekyu plays along for a while because he’s interested in the magicks. After learning as much as he thinks he can learn from them he betrays them and kills most of them. He also gets into a major fight with a small spirit, who was pretty much teaching the cultists their magick. He like just barely wins that. He gets out really fucked up but he gets a bit better very quickly from eating it, but he gets kind of captured again and ‘__’;;;... Still from just eating a bit of it, he does get a further knowledge and capability from it.

A really big time skip, TL;DR hes helping a lot of /fomors/ from /other/ places and they teach him a bit on shadowy stuff? So he learns to just make things explode kind of and just yes bad shadow arcane shit idk, and a kind of shadow step  thing haha.

More skipping; there are points where he consumes different monsters or spirits or this or that that give him more influence on his other things and some adaptations like his tail, and a fusion of illusionary magick with light magick to form solid glass like things.

He spends a lot of his free time between fights studying general anatomy and watching fighters. With many years of practice and studying, he kind of infuses a lot of his other powers together to kind of make a really speedy destructive martial arts? Focusing on pressure points and joints, to smash/explode/break apart. He’ll smash into these points and illusionary glass flowers will form onto the area, explode in some ways like either into glass shards that stab everywhere into them, or the shadowy arcane explosion. He’ll use their own blood and freeze it into shards or weapons to stab into them. So yes lots of learning and powers.

If they have an income, where does it come from? In Lucid Dream he doesn’t focus on money at all. Just on killing. He lets his council take care of money and such for him, he deals with attacking places. In Numinous Dream, he has to spend a lot of time to get money... ‘___’. For a while he does obscure labor jobs for money. Eventually he gets a bit associated with a mafia like group. Noticed generally for his talent of accidently fucking killing their hit targets for them because he’s just eating people. He makes a lot of money from that and later opens up a home/shop. The shop is like a nice modern butcher shop, that also serves as a really fine dining for good meats restaurant? A good front for his stuff in the background... He spends a lot of time getting more and more involved with these mafia people, and slowly creeping into politics through them. They help him hide a lot of his past in this timeline and work out a general backstory and such. They help him connect with other organizations and groups and he just gets a lot of money through this shit.

Do they have a job? Do they like it? How do they feel about their co-workers? He’s a politician/butcher? Idk he has some bullshit butcher fine dining meat shop business. As far as everyone else goes even the important people he doesn’t give much shit about them. He’s just using them as much as they use him.

Alil Conaill

Where did they learn their abilities? Alil really... doesn’t have.. too much talents.. Well kind of. He’s a very studious child. He has high goals to help people in his future. So he wants to become a doctor. He kind of excels in the things he studies, so culinary and medical. He doesn’t really enjoy it too much, but hes helped Nekyu a lot with learning how to cook really fine foods. And... Nekyu has... helped him with experience in the medical field. He’s doing a lot of pre studying now, as he’s applying for universities.  He has a lot of knowledge on healing, bandaging, amputation, etc. And a good amount of experience in all areas.

If they have an income, where does it come from? He doesn’t work at all. All of their income comes from Nekyu, and he relies all on that. He spends all his time studying for the most part.

Do they have a job? Do they like it? How do they feel about their co-workers? No job.

Zhyhal

Where did they learn their abilities? He learned a lot on archery and swords while in the military. He had at least 100 TUATHA years to focus on these, so he’s pretty good at them both. Other than that he’s also spent a lot of time on barding. It originally started as just joining singing with others at outposts. Eventually he picked up one or two instruments and he just went on from there. Eventually learning magic infused things after a few visits from some exceptional bard groups that had come by the camps.

If they have an income, where does it come from? Most of his money in the past came from his work in the royal army. Other than that ever since he left he hasn’t really kept too much on him. He just donates most of his money (if he even gets any) since he doesn’t need too much to survive.
